What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

What track is the first pic? The second one is the Houston track....
Sorry I forget which one had a few on my phone, just got on my PC and put my glasses on and saw the difference... I know it's not Phoenix Raceway... I will have to find out now kind of shaped like Englishtown but I think it is Atlanta. It's sad so many are gone.

He lived a great life and was an incredible father and inspiration. My first car was a 73 SE Charger that he gave me. It didn’t run so he told me to figure it out. Fast forward: before passing he gave me his Whaler and truck. I do t fish and had no need for a truck so they were sold, helped fund LSU tuition for my son and brought another 73 to me to enjoy.

Sorry to hear about your dads passing, but a perfect tribute to him whenever and whenever you can!

I’m doing heat guy stuff in the addition today, and I took a little time to take the bride for a ride! Now, not that, but one can always dream. This ride was on the bike, she’s been hankering to get some breeze on the knees, and some wind in her hair, or whatever the heck they say! Back to heat guy stuff now.

Reno/rehab on both rental houses in the same month.

The word of the day for the past 2 weeks- "assbust".

Got the "tower of power" visually spiffed up. Lots of elbow grease, repainted the top cap, cowl, fin & new decals make it look almost new. Tomorrow I'll work on rebuilding the carbs. Before and after ....

Took another look at the World's slowest form of delivery in action.....Global Deleivery Network sucks.

I think maybe nearly 12,000 people have handled my package so far. I only went that way because an alternator costs an arm and a leg to post.

Lesson learned.

A couple of years ago I posted a pic of my eldest granddaughter cruising in the Coronet. Fast forward two years and now her little sister can keep her company. They love going for rides in 'Pop's fast car'. Although the fact that we always wind up at the frozen yogurt shop might have something to do with it.

Helping my Son-in-law build himself a decent 1st Gen Cummins truck...guess I've been a bad influence! ;)

Had his truck in the shop and found that we needed some new front hubs, well after looking into the price of new/used hubs and the other parts required to swap from DRW to SRW on the front axle we decided that it would be cheaper to just find another front axle. Started looking around online and finally came across a guy selling a 92 reg cab W250 roller that had mostly been stripped of motor/tranny, wiring, interior etc for cheaper than what most people wanted for just one axle. So hooked up patches to my trailer and did a 1350Km, 20hr day to go get it.

Guy had a winch on his 4runner so we used that to drag it up onto the trailer....

He asked if I wanted this green box as well...it has one rusty side and one really good side...I said absolutely since I can just cut off and save that good box side!

Been bustin my butt both at work and off.
10, 11, 12 plus hour days trying to get the tech in our new building online.

New switch.
The wiring crew didn't label the front of the patch panel, the rear is not in order, some of them don't work, at least one in a room does not exist on the panel, and the rooms are either labeled wrong or not at all.

...oh, and the fiber crew didn't listen to instructions, and pulled all my working fiber from the MDF to the next building out when they terminated the run from this building to that building creating an emergency the next morning.

Renters left the place like this-

Yes, that grass is higher than the top of the fence.
Gave my 20 year old Craftsman rider a workout.
...and yes, that fence angles down the slope at 30 degrees or more.

...and although the bathrooms were nearly spotless (and they had bidet toilet seats), they had to walk past this on the bathroom door every day.

Took all of 20 seconds to wipe off with a damp rag.

Gotta fix this-

HD screwed up our tile order.
Had to go pick up 3/4 of a pallet myself.
Sure could feel that behind me.
IIRC one box is 45 pounds and that's 22 boxes, so that's 990 pounds.

See my trick to get a fork-lifted pallet on there?
Cost all of $15 to buy 6x's so the pallet sat on them instead of my ramp angle iron.
The ones in front are my mower maintenance ramps.

Did get to eat some good Mexican food, though.
(Pardon Mrs YY1's tits)

That place plays the best music.
It's "regular" music that just happens to have Spanish vocals, not "stereotypical" Spanish music.

Set up a "spare" vintage stereo for Mrs YY1 to use while she's there working.

I had it on "5" and could hear it at the end of the driveway.

20 WPC Sherwood circa 1980.

Speakers are a good match and efficient.

They are "Inkel" brand, the company that actually owned Sherwood at that time.

Been loading scrap on my beater for the last couple of days.....but about to go in since the temp is rising. No pics right now but maybe later. I mean who wants to see scrap on a pickup anyways!

Nice.

Let's see it.

Piece o' history right there.

I saw this lot at one of my favorite "not overpriced" thrift stores last week.

Unfortunately they decided to not "not overprice" them.

That's a "Kenny" receiver on the bottom shelf.

I was interested in the Akai tape deck until I saw the $50 price tag.
IIRC the Kenwood was $90.
