What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

It’s still 100 feet long. It was stopped there because any further gets into a wet mushy gully.
Are you going to set up a 'watch' camera in case he decides to tear it down when you ain't there??

I got lucky with the fences....both of my neighbors have pools and it's city ordinance to have the pool fenced in. I don't have a fence across the back but I like it that way.

Yesterday, I had the timing belt and associated parts replaced on the Passat. It hit 97K miles last week. I'm always a bit paranoid about running a timing belt too long on an interference engine. Remarkably, the belt and the accessory belt were in pretty good shape. The water pump was weeping a bit and causing that lovely coolant smell, at times; so it was all due for replacement. On the VW 2.0L TDI, it's all a part of the belt replacement - timing and accessory belts, idler and tensioner pulleys, the water pump, and the one-time-use fasteners that go with all that.

It's hard to believe I've had this car four years now. Bought it with 53K miles in October '19, and it has almost 98K as of this morning. That's just over 11K per year. It's daily-driven, gets right at 33 mpg farting around town and in Sport mode, and it's just a wonderfully comfortable highway and in-town car. I'll be happy to put another 50 - 60K on this VW. Rarely have I had a DD that I've kept over two years. I think my C4 Corvette hung around for just over two years. Two years seems to be the time I get the itch to get another vehicle. My wife's Buick has been around for six years!

I've had a lot of cars over the years but kept most of them for extended periods but a few weren't kept for long at all for various reasons. Had my 95 Dakota since the summer of 98 and the 97 2500 diesel Ram since late 2001 and of course, the 66 Belvedere since summer of 88

Well, they are very much aware of where the property line is because they put up a new marker pin near the shoreline and they weren’t cutting the grass on my side any longer. Based on that, they are no longer disputing the line, but I know that they still won’t like the 6’ wall. Here’s the amount of land they’ve bee using on my side, which is about 25’.

Construction of a fence is the number one method to avoid someone claiming adverse possession, a rather messy area of real estate law.

Yeah I helped a buddy build a "neighborly" fence a few years ago. Cost him about 5 grand. Two years later he sold(the neighbor) and packed up and moved away. George tore down the fence soon after the sold sign went up.
I had A-hole neighbours a few years ago....I refused to replace the tired worn-out fence until they sold. I was so happy when that Real Estate sign went up. The very next day after they moved out, I cut down all the trees and bushes, and started replacing fences. Life is better now between all three neighbours - for everyone.

A few years ago my new neighbors replaced the fence that was actually built on my property by about 10" and just happened to catch the crew just as they were about set posts and pointed out where the stakes were. They had already set one post but pulled it out before the cement took a set. I wasn't around when the previous neighbor had it built.

Fences make good neighbours.. they certainly do.. LOL. Circa 1992 with the skitzode bipolar maniac that lived next door...

Went grocery shopping, $496 :realcrazy: for about 12 plastic bags of food
not that much meat, a pkg of chicken thighs, just 12# turkey,
some dry & canned goods, a bunch of frozen foods, candy
& some produce
I remember the days it was about $20's a bag.

Not sure about my neighbor’s mental state, but he is an angry Irish lush. Most likely, he’s got a small wiener.
LOL.. no matter how much I drank I couldn't handle here anymore. Had a stick up her ***, called child welfare on us more than once. Couldn't handle a couple in their early 20's living next door with 3 kids, old cars and activity in our yard.

Sounds more like she had a branch up her ***.

Didn’t work on my car, but I did work on my sons truck. It’s a 1986 W150 that had been off the road for the last 12 years. He’s been driving it for a couple months, and things are starting to show up from its extended nap. The big thing lately is that the heat didn’t blow hot. Changed the thermostat, back flushed the whole system, changed the oil, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. It’s running smooth, and the heat is back on, just in time for the cold weather.

My reward? One more nice day to unwind in the RR, and take a little drive. Job well done, and just reward!
