What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Speaking of speakers, I have a set of Bose 301 Series III units I've owned since 1980 when I was stationed in Alaska. I had to replace the cones back around 1993. I've had them in the living room for 23 years and have had the stereo powered up twice. I just haven't had the occasion or the desire to listen to music on it. I think I'll change that this week.

My LP collection needs exercise! I guess there are about 400 albums in the cabinet. My sons have never heard my system in action...it is time to correct that.

Don't those 301's have about 30 small speakers aimed to reflect of every possible surface?

Could get pricey to re-foam them.

Have had this project motorcycle in the shop for...oh...a decade or so. One of 13 police prototypes built in 1998, mines the second one built. Last owner... abused it. A lot. Lightweight bike, tons of torque...front forks are blown and the front head is broken from too many wheelies (the front head is where the front motor mount attaches).

I've been accumulating the parts for it for...oh..a decade or so. Finally got a wild hair and put 'er on the lift.

Removed the busted head and the front cylinder (unload the base gasket and you need to replace it)

Cleaned all the surfaces, installed new gaskets, reinstalled the cylinder, put on the new head, installed the new front mount...and the engine is in the frame without a ratchet strap for the first time in ten years.

Didn't take as long as I thought it would. Been a while since I did one of these, only took me a couple hours start to finish.

This will be the bike when it's done

I have the original bodywork, as well as a fresh set of decals (all 3m reflective) from the original vendor. Just have to get 'er all back together!

Some fall clean up today. Well the last three days it’s a large estate so finished today… Probably have to do it a few more times as the oaks still have 50% leaves hanging on like usual. It’s been beautiful weather to work in…

Solved the unified field theory of Physics in a deep REM sleep, woke up and went to the salt mines, returned home at the end of the day to pick up the Mrs and go grocery shopping, and watched a few shows on the TV. Petted the snoring dog too.

Oh yeah, we celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary yesterday.

Been a long week but thankful that both sets of GP's and the Daughter all live within 25 minutes of each other. Daughter can't feed, or lift even the baby so it's all hands on deck until she's able. Car **** can wait, but I did get her Mazda CX3 ready for Winter yesterday.

Checked out a new local music venue. Opening night. I know the owner...sound was passable but the engineer didn't have a clue. May have to offer my services... Nice venue. Outstanding acoustics. Nice lighting rig. Good staging. Couple kinks to work out, but...opening night.

Just finished filling brad holes in the window & door trims in a bedroom I am renovating. Man, it is hot in here today......2-3 hours dry time is probably reduced to about 25 minutes in this weather.
Ready to sand before I go to bed, and hopefully throw a couple of coats of primer on tomorrow.

A local guy (fellow electrician) is installing A/C as soon as I finish, so I am on a mission now. I don't do A/C installs....I know my limits, and I don't need too many strings to my bow. It's hard enough looking after all our cars, and home maintenance without having people ringing me all night about their unit not working.

Funny how a car can become a shelf so quick. Been helping a long time friend's widow try to reclaim the house from a major hoarder. I knew he was bad but not this bad. Anyways been trying to find other places to put the stuff that the car collected during the summer so I can get back to work on it now that the weather is cool but also trying to sell off some of the good stuff from my friends place too.

I had to do an errand at the far end of Sacramento this morning and had really nothing much else to do, so i decided to take the long way down,
Probably haven't been down that road in 10+ years or more.
Now a new strip mall is going in, and a big multi pump Chevron gas station, and a new housing development, that i couldn't even to guess how many hundreds of new homes are also going to be built.
The new roads have already been put in place.
Guess i need to get out more often. lol

Have I mentioned before how much I love this machine? 1.5 hours to do 3 days work. We'll never rake or blow a leave again. All that spare time, what shall we do? Oh ya, restock the firewood. Already burnt 1.5 face cord...

Buddy’s garage had no heat. Turn on thermostat calling for heat, but would not ignite . Check exhaust vent pipes , found birds or animals nest clogging vent . Cleared, still no ignition. Check circuit board for code. Steady 3 lights…

I lost a nice buck 2 Saturdays ago, and was pretty bumbed about that. Bloodtrailed about 7hrs, and lost him at dark when he stopped bleeding. My bow has been flat this year, consistentcy wise, so I opted for the x-bow this morning. Was done dragging him in, just after Noon. Temps are going up, and Shotgun Opens on Saturday, so I'll probably sit that out, til Late Bow/Muzzle Loader Season...

Watched the crew install a 6'-0" fence between me and my next door A-hole neighbor at our palatial NH estate. They'll finish up the installation tomorrow. This is something that I didn't want to do, but last year when we explained to them where the property line was, the hot-headed heavy-drinking husband wigged out and said some nasty things to us that he shouldn't have. All we wanted them to do was to politely tell them to respect the property line, but the A-hole husband brought it upon himself. The fence is on the far end of our property, so it doesn't bother us at all, but it's about 10' from his guest house. Now, there will be no more cutting down our blueberry bushes (so they can have an increased view), parking their cars and setting up a a horseshoe pit, dumping their yard waste and having their dogs crap on our property.

File under: Being an A-hole neighbor has consequences.

Personally,I'd love to be a fly on the wall to be able to hear what they say when they eventually come up and see it.

Had my eye on a CZ brand 9mm, handgun that i wanted to treat myself with owning one, when i lost 50 pounds, off this old mans body, and got down to 180 pounds.
Well, i hit that goal last month.
So today i went and purchased one.
Had to take the California firearm safety test, as i haven't bought a firearm in probably 10+ years.
Boy, all the paper work you gotta fill out these day's out here in Commiefornia.
And i still need to bring down, show, a birth certificate, when i go and pick up the gun after the 10 day waiting period.
Didn't have a birth certificate, so i had to write, and call, the city in Connecticut, where i was born, to now get one of those, too.

Now, to cap it off, get some of those fake cheap dummy surveillance cameras bolted on top, aimed at his side of the yard.

Nothin' says "neighborhood" like a good spite fence.
