What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

we used to use scaffolding for years, then OSHA scaffolding requirements got crazier every year, so switched to using lifts, way easier then handing that stuff up onto scaffolding .I'm too beat up now to do any of it without being in traction for weeks, I just point now. but I will be building the box beams and taping all of it

Looks awesome! Where are you in Michigan, by the way? I’m just outside of Ann Arbor.

mezzanine above is for storage, underneath holds 3 variable speed exhaust fans for welding, chop saw and grinding. red plywood is non combustable, 5/8" drywall type x fireshield on ceiling to deter fires. will have (5) 2x4 high output flush mount lights on 2 switches, one to light 2 on one switch lighting up 3 more so my blind *** can see for surgery work. there is a bathroom beyond that, with a shower, urinal, shitter, hot water, water softener. once completed will start a thread showing complete process and the rest of it, and its advantages building the way I built it. thanks for your interest.

Many years ago I had an attacked oversized 4 car garage. Copper air lines ran to pull down hose reels, in my shop also. Three way switch in both areas to operate my compressor which was in a third location with my shop vacuum system. Lights everywhere, pull down retractable extension cord and outlets every 8 feet. Then I had a few oversized 3 car, then a few oversized 2, and it's a 22 foot x 21 foot now, my last. I haven't installed my compressor, lights or outlets. I don't have my 6 different shovels and every tool, to do anything in your yard. I gave it all away years ago and today I hung my only retractable extension cord and a few shelves and one light. We'll talk about the hose reel another day.

Bought the rest of the materials to finish installing my air reel. Three way switches, one in my garage and one in my shop to turn on the compressor, which is in a third location. The copper pipe for the job was so cheap, I thought it was free, NOT!! LOL

Spent most of today in the ER with a dear family member. On the plus side, the change I got back from the pharmacy included a 1935 S wheat penny!!!

Thanks for your response. I'm taking notes. I don’t know where life will take me but I'm still planning ahead.

I'm just setting up to hopefully create some cool cars before my demise, not particularly looking to make any money but breaking even at least. my 34 kc truck is first on the list.

Finished this property yesterday afternoon. It was a mess…

Mowed the yard on Friday and will probably won't mow again for a month or more. House work on Saturday and today listened to Ed Young's church proceedings and been out in the shop since about 1pm. Got a fire going in the chopped off beer keg and watched a recorded truck race while cleaning up the shop and carport out back.

Last fall, I put this up, but when the snow melted, it was gone.

.....
Went through this crap with the "new" neighbor behind me. He planted a treeline 10' over the line on mine and the neighbors property. I had a survey come out and here you can see him in the red shirt confronting the surveyor and his trees to the left of the line. The surveyor is a big southern boy and when he was done he said to me "Theirs Yankees, and there are damn Yankees, and he is a damn Yankee." When my fence installer showed up he started digging up his trees before the fence guys blocked him out.

That sucks because MOST of the time in these situations YOU are the bad guy.. I did some commercial fence work and have seen it all... Now I just do new fence and fence repairs on the Farm and rentals I manage...

Oh yeah he was threatening to sue me and saying he has the right to do that to keep water from pooling in his yard and stuff. No problems once the fence went up 6 inches on my side of the line. It was a trying couple months. The fence...

I have woods between me and my Mennonite neighbors.. Nobody needs to maintain it and nobody is fighting over it...

When I bought my place in early 84, my neighbor's land to the east drained off of his and across mine and into the next 1/2 acre lot and then out to the back easement. I brought in 40 truck loads of dirt to just level my place (front and back) and built a small berm to keep my place from draining into his place and keep his runoff to himself. He bitched like crazy saying my yard was now draining into his....which it wasn't. He shut up after awhile when I proved to him he was all f'd up lol. It wasn't long before I also owned the 1/2 on the west side of my property and well, that pissed off the guy on the other side even though no water went into his place.

He was just pissed off that I could afford it. Even asked him if he wanted to go half and half and he said hell no and already had enough to take care of. Ok, then stfu then. They are both long gone now and I sold off that extra land to some really nice neighbors several years later. Life is good now and I'm now the old fart in the neighborhood lol. There's only one guy older than me out here now and he pretty much doesn't worry about the neighborhood anymore even though he was the civic club president for a lot of years. At least this area was never an HOA!! :D
