What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

I'm at the dentist.
I hate going to the dentist, even for an exam.

I made a joke about a TX politician about a video he made. Disappeared guess it was considered political. OH well.

No adjustment on the doors.
Amana brand (same as whirlpool IIRC).

The trim plugs on the top to cover the unused hinge bolt holes were glued in and glued on.
I broke 2 of the 3 and bent the 3rd. Had to drill them out. WTF?
Guess I'll get some shallow head Phillips machine thread screws so the holes don't fill up with crap.

When we bought it, we were on the low end aisle and bet on what the most expensive model was. Wife said 3K, I sad 3250. WRONG.

$3800

A side by side is definitely a different experience.
Totally different mindset required for fitting stuff in.

I noticed they now have models with 4 doors, and the 4th one can be either frige or freezer.
Interesting.

Replaced a bummer tail light on the wife's Durango, 5 minutes and 130 bucks later it's done.

More doors less room, I think. Bought bottom freezers with a rollout basket.

The advantage of SXS units is you dont have to pile everything in. You have shelves like a closet. You can organize items and when needing something you dont have to dig for it.

Was it the socket?

I've noticed on my Dakota, that the sockets are wearing in an odd way that causes the bulb to either not work or work intermittently if it's fully seated.
Pull it out a bit and it starts working.
I've replaced both turn sockets on the front and I think the backup light sockets have the same issue.

No, half of the led parking light was dead.

I'm going to be taking delivery of my 2 babies [Dusty & BamBam] later this morning. No more suffering for BamBam being exposed to the elements anymore as his new stall is waiting for him!!!

Trying to get the interior of the house painted, but with a gimp hip & leg. I wind up suffering from burnout & pain after about 3+ hours of work. It'll eventually get done. I do have back issues, but never has it effected my hip & leg like this. I'd like to know what the hell it is?
Sounds like an issue with your sciatic nerve

No, this is lower than that. It's more of a hip/groin issue, the ball & socket of my hip has popped as well as in the hip area that just kills all muscle strength in my thigh, butt, hip & groin area. Even sends pain down to the bottom of my foot. I need to see a Chiro but hate going to them when in pain as I don't get a good adjustment.

Posted earlier about whether some resto work on my Dakota counted as other than work on a car, lol, being a truck. About a 4 month project and finally done a week ago. Thinking of posting the work done where it may belong on the forum.
ANYWAY - my garage furnace was having problems that I thought I solved last winter putting in a new high-limit switch. Seemed to be fine for a few months, then the same problem cropped up again. There's a light on the CB that will flash in a pattern (rather than constant pattern) if there's a problem with certain components. The 4-flash stop and repeat pattern indicates on the chart the limit or rollout switch. So this go around got another limit switch and a new rollout switch (these are inexpensive parts) I just put in. So far, so good. Next likely to-do is removing the flash sensor probe to check it for carbon accumulation as a possible root issue. Hassle here is, to access it, have to remove a panel also serving to support the furnace from the ceiling on one end. Will have to set a post up under it to get the panel off. Prefer to have someone assist as a safety on the post while removing the panel. Well...hopefully next week on this.

Went to the local butcher to grab a stack of vac-packed steaks for the summer shutdown period....they close for a couple of weeks, and I hate supermarket steaks.
The bastages hide the gristle and fat under the steak.

I need to move closer to Illinois so that Mario can take care of my meat needs. @MarPar

Still here.. my OSHA approved scaffolding..

Lol, as a guy who did a lot of o-**** compliance work, you don’t need guard rails or fall protection until the scaffold is 10 feet high. Some might say “hey it’s 6-feet”; nope 10 when on a scaffold. O-shitsters would likely give ya…well…**** with how it’s supported. But – then they couldn’t unless you’re an employer having employees working from it. Used to piss-off the contractors having employees cuz self-employed contractors were exempt from osha.
Oh, if your an employer in the mfg sector (not construction sector) the fall protection rule is 4-feet. Guess osha figured construction workers could handle the extra two-feet being tougher, lol. Used to give me fits with fall protection regulations!

See if anyone in your area specializes in MFR[ myo fascial release] massage therapy. 3 years or so ago, had actually been bothering me for much longer, I thought I needed to get a hip joint replaced on the left. Pain was ffn excruciating, especially after spending the day creeper diving. I was able to get in and see a gal in Cambria who specializes in MFR and it was like the switch had been shut off finally on the pain. Our bodies are covered top to bottom with Fascia which is like a ballistic mesh. When it gets irritated, it bunches up and does not release. Chiro does not address this. Its not a one shot deal on the treatments as if you are like me, you spent a lifetime acquiring injuries that attribute to having a body out of whack. My right side is down at the shoulder and torqued forward enough that there is a difference in leg length when laying down. Getting this addressed equals it up. I'm jacked up enough that the gal in Cambria hooked me up with two friends of hers that do tandem treatments. Dorothy did not have enough limbs to apply correction to multiple areas at the same time. I need to get back to the chicks for more but need to wait until I'm more flush with cash. Insurance does not cover this for me.
Enough old body stuff. We went and saw the new Matrix today. AWESOME!

Mad Butcher.jpg

Sir Peter Leitch aka 'The Mad Butcher' - started with one store, finished up selling out 20+ stores. Huge Rugby League fan.....affectionately known as the 19th Warrior.
I have bumped into a couple of times and had a chat with him.....crazy & generous. :D

Have a cheap Frigidaire that needs to be adjusted but looks to me it's built like a piece of junk and so long as the doors close good enough to not leak, I'm going to leave it be. It's a shop box anyways....

I'm thinking of doing the same as this one doesn't look like the one I wanted, but the juries still out and I have other expenses to deal with. The joys of home ownership!
