What was the coolest toy you had as a kid?

Oh man, that Tomy Digital Derby on the right. That hand held game was the hot ticket Christmas toy in 1978, no stores had them in stock.
Funny thing, there was nothing digital about them, they were electro-mechanical games. LoL.

Yes, The baseball game also by Tomy was electrotechnical too.

But the football and baseball games to the left are digital. Although the two player football has a roller for running speed that it must covert into digital.

We had AMF "Hugger" big wheels. My dad thought the metal construction was more durable.

He was right. We still had them 40+ years later. The rubber strip on the wheel would not last. The yellow was the smaller one. And we had a blue larger one.

Back in the 60's, i thought my American Flyer trains were the coolest thing around.

EDIT:
When the Aurora road race sets came around, the trains, sorta, kinda, lost interest.

My son was into them big time! He even had the toothbrush holder that repeated a poem to get them to brush their teeth. It worked! He's 45 now
I had a friend at the time he has the castle and the ships, me all the figures had a great time playing together am 48 now, the toothbrush holder never sold here in Mexico your kid had a great dad, buy him that toothbrush gizmo is obvious how much you love him and still do my old friend

I had to buy these all again as an adult. The Dodge Tipper & Trailer was my favourite as a kid. We always had quality Matchbox toys as kids.....hundreds of them.

My earliest & BEST Christmas waking up to was getting Johnny Express trucks, I have the complete set of everything they had. My parents, God Bless them, had to buy a "D" size battery charger for me ! I still have every toy that they bought me in my youth! I'm getting to the point of letting go.

My most favoritest one ever. It's been decades.
Wonder if I ever again would have thought about it on my own?
Thanks Kiwi!

This is the real dilemma! I have re-collected about a dozen of my favorite Hot Wheels that I remember I had (in the correct colors). I still have to pick up a blue Nitty Gritty Kitty with white interior but they are outside the range I'm willing to pay for a decent one.

So far I have restrained myself from picking up a vintage slot car track. Ain't got no time for that!

Yeah, Big Wheels…man what a throwback for me. Good stuff.
The Green Machine sure could do a great fishtail. Made me feel like I was doing a burnout like dad would do in his cars :)

My first R/C car that was serviceable.
Radio Shack “Golden Arrow”.

I raced that Golden Arrow until I saved up enough money to buy a far better one at the time.
The Team Associated “RC-10”.
It came in pieces and I got to build it myself. Loved modding that thing for different race tracks.
