Where did you and your car go today

Today was much cooler & I had a hankering for one of those taco truck burritos so I went back to Geyserville.

I parked across the street & got in line.

They taste good but cost $24!
Last time I was there they were $8 for a super burrito so I will be posting in KD's boycott thread soon...
While getting situated to hit the road this guy just pulls in behind me and sits there for minutes until I pulled out.

My instincts soon proved correct as he just sat on my bumper until pulling away from the Jimtown stop sign when he proceeded to pass on a double yellow right in front of the Jimtown Café parking lot.
VERY unsafe, cars pull out of there going both ways, what a jerk.

I observed 3 more illegal passes.
Needless to say I was NOT impressed with his sissy-trike.

I'm glad you backed off, no body parts on that beautiful hood!! LOL

Went to the original owners house in the RR, and spent the day driving, talking, and reminiscing about the car. He was so over the moon about seeing the car again, and being able to drive it once more. A new Vette pulled in behind us while he was driving, and he couldn’t resist having a little fun with that. He beeped the horn at a couple pretty girls walking along the road, he cruised through his neighborhood (twice) waving at all of his neighbors. When it was time to go, he thanked me over and over for bringing the car back for him to see and enjoy. I’m sure I’ll be picking him up again, maybe for the Hines Park cruise. It was a great day.

I think the picture pretty much says it all!

You made his day, Well done!!

Took the Wife for a 2.5 hour x 85 mile or so cruise for Canada Day. 34C/94F today, but we'd see how the Bird handled that. Cruised out to Elmvale Ontario to visit a family she knows, with a son that's a big car nut and Dad's a NASCAR nut. Then we did some touring and worked our way home, engine sitting just above the stat and I didn't have to run the heater. Survived until I parked her and as I was getting my stuff out of the car I heard a POP.. and quickly realized it was time to run for a bucket. Glad I fixed the overflow fitting and ran a full length hose before 'Dega last year. LOT's of thumbs ups and hooting and hollering along our way !

LOT's of thumbs ups and hooting and hollering along our way, I guess so, It's not everyday you see a bird driving down the street!
Once in the early nineties after coming out of the mountains in a minivan in Colorado on vacation, I pulled in at a store, got out and walked passed the hood and heard something. Stopped and opened the hood and saw the overflow bottle bubbling or boiling. It was running fine and not overheating according to the gauge . I have never had that happen to me before. Stopped and got a new radiator cap and all was fine. That was weird.

It deserved to POP... I put the gun on it and the rad filler neck area was 263F about 4 minutes after I'd shut it down. Lower hose was 202F, water pump housing was about 260F.

finally adjusted the shift linkage to get the gears rowing smoothly and set the timing went for a nice cruise around .
Beautiful day out .

Went to a car show today, didn't enter the show, but drove in and parked by a white Cuda and was asked to open the hood. I checked out the cars and took these pictures of the mopars. There are guys on this forum with cars that are extremely nice and never show them off or post very often about themselves or their car, I met one today, @GETEEX. His car is a 67 GTX, absolutely beautiful!! It was great to meet him.

I took my wife, daughter, and daughter's boyfriend for a ride in the Satellite. I'm pretty sure the boyfriend had never ridden in a car like ours before. I ended up scaring all three of them. From the back seat, my wife said "I'm never riding in this thing again!" I said, "we're only doing 60 and it's only in third gear!" Of course, it was the way and the amount of time it took us to get there that was the issue. LOL - what gives? They don't know by now what's going to happen when I fire that beast up? :moparsmiley:

Got tired of working on & around house so went for a spin out to the Sonoma Valley Airport.
The P-51 Mustang wasn't out, it was getting late & traffic building up so I just took a few pictures and left.
But I WILL be back.
They offer rides in some of the vintage planes...

We had our choice today of two shows:
The monthly town cruise-in (4th of July edition) or a unique event, one that
benefitted the family of a local 9 month old who had just gotten surgery to
remove a cancerous tumor from his brain, God bless him....
Ideally, the powers to be in town should have done something in conjunction
with the group of friends and family wanting to hold the benefit, but they chose
not to.

For Lisa and I, it was an easy choice. Hot as it was, we attended the benefit at
a beautiful facility just outside town and the turnout was truly inspiring!

That's me, dying of heatstroke in the chair back there.... :)
We had a wonderful time regardless.

Didn't drive the Dakota, but took the Taurus to Athens, AL. Dirt track tonight. Real racing!

Took the Bee for a run to the Daughters and back after swapping my front hubs side to side yesterday. She brakes straight now and my right hub/tire assembly is still running warmer than the left, so I know I don't have a bearing issue and it's tire scrub heating it up as car still pulls right and needs an alignment touch up. 36C again now.. glad I got that run in. Three hot starts and no radiator pukes, but made the mistake of touching my gas pedal on the last start and used a good part of my battery getting her running. Turn the key.. leave the go pedal alone jackass...
