Where did you and your car go today

This morning I warmed up the car in the shade before the oaks started dripping their 'stuff' all over the place.

Drove around the 'block' and saw the ol' Dodge still sitting there...

On the way by the station I saw these guys and turned around to say 'Hello, nice cars!'

On the way through St. Helena I noticed a bunch of older vehicles gathered in the high school parking lot so pulled in for some pics.
Turns out it was a informal parade gathering and after I had pulled in the highway traffic was stopped by this guy

So I just got in line...

There were some great vehicles there and this 427 Cobra was CACKLING and sounded very, very healthy!
We exchanged mutual admiration...

I saw the two cars from the Chevron station again.

I spun out of ranks 3/4 of the way through town as they were heading North & I was going South and just cruised around awhile before it got too HOT again.

Now that's to cool, good for you!! See the refection of the flags in the hood, I like that, thanks for sharing!!

Nice pictures!! Those world fair plates are nice, around 200 a pair. Great picture of the old dodge front side shot!! Then there's that green charger that shows up everywhere you go... LOL. As always, thanks for sharing!!

Started off with a day at the lake then took the ‘67 out and filled the 440 up with some fresh 110. Beautiful day here in Minny!

Haven’t had it out much as of late. Took it out yesterday and right to the gas station!

Then went for about a 20 mile little cruise at dusk.. cooler! The 512 likes the cooler temps! No good pics to share though..

Went out for a hundred mile run today. When I left I ran into 3 deer. They're so tame they have no fear of humans.

Took an old highway through some hills for miles.

Before I knew it I had gone about 50 miles, made a turn and headed back. A/C on, the the cruise control set at 70 and I was gone to get to the tire store to get new shoes for the car. Ordered the tires, setup an appointment for them to be mounted and a wheel alignment. Bought oil for her and in a few weeks I'll take her to the detailer for a full cleaning, top to bottom, inside and outside and a buff job.
This is the entrance to the development I live in, the last leg of my journey.

Nice drive Hey-O! Did you unleash the ponies?
Several times!! Two kids in an old Honda civic were egging me on to drop the hammer on it, so I did. It pulls pretty hard for only having about 425 hp and it gets to 140 pretty quick. I never looked at the tach at 140, but it's 1700 at 70.
65 Coronet's are rare by me and many people have no idea what it is, some do. They just know it's clean, old and sounds good!! You know how it is, tell me people don't drive by you with thumbs up, I would if I saw your car!!!

Same place different car! Hopefully my last day back in the pool business. I could hear my old boss from 40 years ago in the back of my head yelling at me... "don't wake up the entire neighbourhood showing up for work tomorrow"! Devalued her a bit more, rolled the speedometer into the next 1000..

Took the old Satellite to my grandsons baseball tournament. Dropped off some things at my sons house and a 65 Satellite same color as mine drives by, what are the odds?

Took Cora in for some new tires and a wheel alignment. There was a guy there that said he could use the tires so I gave them to him. They looked almost new , just 13 years old.

I've been bogged down with 'things' I 'needed' (NOT wanted!) to do so I finally allowed myself to perform some RM on the old girl and then drove around up-valley this afternoon.
I realize now that I get GRUMPY if I don't unwind with a drive in that car every week and I hadn't driven it in a long time- for me. I think my wife is glad I took off in it today...
Anyway, just the usual route for me but I did see a McLaren in St. Helena.

I'm the same way! I need the trip back in time, for me anyway, it washes off the BS of the day!
It's fun for me to watch people figure out that the engine isn't old school. When I had the tires put on the other day, I was watching them, all 8 guys that worked there had the car all the way up just walking from end to the other pointing to this and that and some of the older guys explaining to the younger guys how this does that. It's not about me, it's about the car and a time when engineering and major body changes were a yearly thing, when stainless steel and chrome were real, not plastic and more plastic. The guys loved it and worked on it like it was made out of glass and many said that it made their day. That's very cool and truly priceless.

Today was a regular kind of outing to unwind.
