My dad owned three Studebaker s. A Lark convertible, a Commander, and a Avanti. Oldest vehicle manufacturer in the world from Conestoga wagons to electric vehicles to ICE automobiles.
The wagon was a 1965 with a 283 Chev from the factory.
Yep. My dad actually thought using Chevy power trains would save Studebaker. Problem was the board of directors wanted Studebaker to diversify from the auto business. It was profitable, but not big profits. Add to that a bad relationship with the unions and Studebaker exited the car business.
I am pretty sure the last factory producing Studebakers was right here in Hamilton, Ontario.
Different is good!! I was a Chevy guy because of my son for years. I built more than a few and mopar is a car I know little about. I had two when I was a kid and dropping a few engines in, does not make me mopar knowledgeable. Every car I ever built ended up a restomod, before there was a name for them. I bought my Coronet done.

Went to my front-end guy and made arrangements to drop off my Coronet this winter for the front-end to be dropped and rebuilt. After I put on the new rack and pinion, I didn't like the looks of some of the bushings. I don't have the space to do it right, so he'll do it. I didn't take any pictures, I should of, there was a sweet GTO and a late 50's Corvette getting worked on there. I even stopped to look at some old stuff at a shop I like to stop in on when I'm down at that end of town.

Last car show of the season, Waterford Pumpkinfest. The weather was threatening, and I was surprised at the turnout. It was packed.
