That's an awesome car. They really are still out there. On Wednesday I found and bought a numbers matching 68 charger from a 71 year old woman who drove it daily in the early 80's. He husband just passed away and they are clearing out the herd that he collected. Her car was in the best shape because it was up by the house for 30 years and I bought that one. I know in the field they have a few R/T 68 chargers and some roadrunners but in a field in Wisconsin they are really rusty. So one will save those R/Ts

It was a phone call and 3 hour wait. Phone people were good. The delay put us in the middle of rush hour traffic. Man I am glad that I live in the middle of nowhere!

Thank you, supposedly the original owner's name was Skip, lived in the Pittsburgh California area and was a local drag racer. The family thought that he had passed away and all his stuff had been sold quite a few years ago. Here's a picture that I scanned from a photo found in the storage unit of it towing a U-haul trailer sometime in the early '80's.

I don't know if you noticed in the picture but they are pulling the trailer through the center of a Giant Redwood, pretty cool picture!

Story goes that the hemi was pulled and it got the 440 around '78. Looks like it may of had some body damage to the right front that was repaired a long time ago- before the redwoods picture was taken. It is also coded for a blue body stripe, but in the picture it has a white stripe- possibly changed after the body work was done? It come with the drive train and some body parts from a dark purplish blue '69 Roadrunner that was supposedly street raced in the area by a guy named Joey- built 383, vertical gate 4 speed, Dana 60. You know I've actually toyed with that idea.


Spent the last few days cleaning the car out and going through the boxes of stuff that came with it.

You can see a decal on the windshield in the pictures pulling the U-Haul. It's still on the car.



I also found these in the glovebox and under the seats:






The tags are from the '68 Road Runner that we got the drive train and front sheet metal from.

I still can't believe that I actually own a J code car. The fender tag (I scrubbed off the Ford blue rattle can paint) matches the trunk lip but there are no numbers stamped on the core support anywhere other that the part number, but then the car was built in Friday, December 15, 1967.





The remains of a build sheet that I picked out of the giant rat nest under the back seat.



Hemi only parts:

Torque boxes and rear frame gusset plates



Resonators with tips still on the car
