I purchased a 1966 B body MC on Rock Auto, for less than a single cost. It bolted on but, as I recall I epoxied the original studs into the new MC as the holes were larger. That worked great. I can lock up the drums if need be.

I would switch ignition power under the dash. The pickup coil wires would be too obvious to a thief. There are sources for FSMs to check on wiring circuitry available online.

This is a "first time" problem in my over 50 years of repairing TFs! Are there any clearance issues with the exhaust pipe to cable? What year and model of car?

I remember back in the early 70s, I had to shim the trans mount on a new car, under warrantee, to eliminate a driveline vibration. The dealership had the funky magnetic tool that attached to the u-joint cup end to verify the angle. I did "fix" it.
