Here are the results and point standings following completion of the 3rd event of the 2017 NHRA season.

Congratulations to 'johnnycuda' (FABO) for being "Top Picker Eliminator" for the Gatornationals with a very nice point total of 174.0 points. He picked class winners in Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle; his Pro Stock pick lost in the class finals and his Funny Car pick lost in the semi-final round. He was also helped by ET bonus points in Funny Car and Speed bonus points in both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle.
'Back in Time' (FABO) was right behind with 159.5 points with a class win in Funny Car. His Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle picks lost in the final of eliminations and his Pro Stock pick lost in the semi-final round. He also picked up ET bonus points in Funny Car and Pro Stock.


Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Speed - Tony Schumacher, 329.26 while winning during the final round of eliminations

The 4th race of the 2017 season, the 18th annual Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals, is March 31-April 2, at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, NV.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, March 31 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 5:00PM EDT (2:00PM PDT).
The Denso Spark Plugs Nationals entry list is posted on
NHRA.com and currently shows 14 Top Fuel, 19 Funny Car and 14 Pro Stock entries, but the counts are subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist03.aspx for an updated entry list.
Pro Stock Motorcycle will not race at this event.

If a person picks a winner, does that not count for points?
Or does the most points accumulated accrue with picking the qualifiers?

LOL - yeah. I noticed there was no FBBO top picker noted in oc's post. Then I saw that our top picker must have been Ski....with "no change". LOL - the rest of us went backwards.

Ski - I apologize for my delay in getting back to you.
Event scoring is a combination of points accumulated by your individual class picks by qualifying position and round wins. Then there are bonus points for top event E.T. and Speed and for any National Records set in either E.T. or Speed.
Check post #1 for all of the details.

Actually the top FBBO picker for the GatorNationals was Gpuller with 127.5 points.

To get your event point total, simply subtract your accumulated points from the previous event from your new point total.
