Anyone else do 6.4 out of truck swap?

I tried a search and didn’t turn up much. Im starting to install a 6.4 out of a 2017 truck in my 69 Coronet. I have an RMS suspension, TTI headers and an old Keisler TKO transmission kit with a quick time bell and hydraulic t/o setup. Hotwire did the harness for me too. Just wondering who else has done a similar swap and can share some info on problems before I run into them myself.

That stock oil pain might as well be wall art, won’t fit.

The dipstick and tube will be what you need for the aftermarket pan. Just reshape and mark full oil-level.

Stock pan from the truck is rear sump and does clear with room to spare. Although I don’t know if I like the ground clearance. Once I get the tranny in i will know exactly what it is. Anyone else do a truck hemi with this front end? Wondering about a/c and power steering pressures.

I did the 5.7 truck motor in my 69 roadrunner stock K and had to use a mid sump pan. Nice to know upgraded K dont need to change the pan

Sorry, I would not consider it an upgrade. A change, sure, but not necessarily better than the original design. The new stuff looks shiny though.

It's a 2016 6.4 hemi from a ram 2500.

I did a 2016 5.7 in a 69 roadrunnerragtop my 5.7 had the throttle body pointing straight up so with the hood on I had no clearance. With the plastic cover on no way possible to close the hood. So I had to convert the motor to a forward facing throttle body. I think your 6.4 faces forward on a aproxx 45* angle so you might be in luck. But definitely look into this .

Thanks for the info, my intake points up on a truck motor also. So it looks like I'll be doing the same thing. I bought this 6.4 from a truck in a shop fire. I plan on changing the top end anyway, but was not sure how deep this rabbit hole is gonna be. But for 1,000 bucks and 40,000 miles on it, I'm up for it. Thanks

The things I needed for my up to front throttle body conversion were
Intake
Timing cover
Dampener pully
Water pump
Alternator
A/C compressor
Power steering pump
Belt
Heater core tubes
None of these from my 2016 truck motor would work. I used a 2016 Chrysler 300 motor as my example on what I needed.

Thanks for the list gazoo, I'll work on it, I was thinking that this engine could have a optional dual alternator setup. If I mount the second alternator on the lower passenger side, I can get rid of the upper alternator and run the car intake instead. Since this one is burnt, maybe the new edelbrock Victor would be a good idea.I'm gonna look more into this alternator setup first, if not then it's a whole front cover assembly. My plans for the electronics for this is the plug and play pcm kit from mopar with a t56magnum 6 speed. Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it.

I should be getting my transmission mounted this week, then i can find out if my truck intake will work with the stock hood. The factory oil cooler is also very tight to one of the steering rack tubes. Power steering pump reservoir sits about where the battery tray needs to be. A/C pump clears with no problems. TTI headers appear to hit a boss on the block at the oil pan rail, should be able to grind that back. The hydroboost is challenging getting lines bent to clear clutch lines,header and steering shaft. Everything fits as usual with this stuff, almost but still needing a little cut/grind. Seems like I’m on my own with this particular swap combo. I will post pics as I get the issues figured out.

What didn’t you like about your RMS suspension? It seems like a pretty simple setup as far as aftermarket setups go. I haven’t driven it yet but, i will be able to do a side by comparison with a friends 69 Roadrunner

Got the motor and tranny bolted in today. All the front accessories clear. The oil cooler is the closest. It just clears the fitting on the steering rack. TTI headers clear on the passenger side with just a small bit of grinding on the block above the oil pan rail. I don’t know if the car blocks have that. Drivers side looks good too, but I don’t have the starter yet.
