When we adopted Toga and Zeke from Woods, it was 3 months after putting down Coco and Neko wh were long term rescues with us. That was the first time in 26 years we did not have any dogs in our lives. There are many furry buddies at shelters who need to be rescued. Dive in! They rescue us too and bring joy, companionship, laughter etc into our lives. Right now our two are hanging out with mom on the bed, plus one cat, clowning around. Later on, we'll load the dogs up in the wagon and head up the coast to Ragged Point for lunch.R/T, do it! Get yourself and your family another dog. There are so many wonderful deserving dogs in the shelters.
But probably all of us here know how you feel. My gf and I lost our black shepherd to cancer a few months ago, at 6 1/2. I don't know how I would have done, without the three gsd's we still have. I still miss Mopar every day.
