From a buddy that worked on the lines back then.....says there were crashes right off the rollers. Some even ran the cars into each other racing them out to the holding lots for loading at the rail head. Probably happened on night shift lol

My brother worked in the STL assy plant back in 1970.
He told of a story of a Hemi equipped car that came off the line needing work. A guy was assigned the task of transporting cars from assy to repair. He hopped in and drove out of the building onto the road between the North and South plants and decided to open er up. He got to the other end and hit the brakes...nothing. He didn't bother to read the tag which said there were no brakes. He went through a fence, hit a rack of crated engines and into a parking lot, hitting a few cars.
Never proved who did it.

Honestly I have only been into Mopars in the past few years. I mean as far as owning them. I have always liked the cool cars and the awesome options you could order them with. But upon speaking to and meeting any Mopar guys I have come to realize that these cars are more of an obsession. And every guy that I meet that is a true diehard Mopar guy loves to show what he is passionate about. From the guy we got the Roadrunner from to Mr Jerry Hall they have some of the best mopar collections I have ever seen and I stand in awe drooling over some of these Machines. So the fact that Worman is restoring these cars as close as possible to OE specs ya gotta not bust his balls too much. There are some parts that are just IMPOSSIBLE to obtain unless you have pockets deeper than most people. As I have seen with working one other peoples cars the resto is only as good as the money paying for it.

I can and will bust his chops....He does zero for me and the hobby....he needs to stop his BS claims and call the cars for what they are....

It gets old when the majority of people I meet at shows compare my work to his.....It is sickening how many people he has fooled....

Right now it is 4 hours a way at a museum. Basically, a car show seven days a week through 2022....built a car for all to enjoy, learn from in a build thread here and how to do it RIGHT....

TV does not keep our hobby alive it is people like you, me and all the members here and elsewhere ...that fuel this hobby not some loud mouth wannabe....

Its reality TV guys, I watch it to look at the cars and Allysa Rose now that's not hard on the eyes at all. When Mark is on I use the Mute button a lot. lol.

DVR & fast fwrd works wonders
it has gotten marginally better since season 3 or 4

I only watch for the cool cars,
somewhat Tony (knowitall, parts supplier)
Alysia & Will can be actually entertaining at times
(use to watch for Dave, the assembler)

the rest is for TV audiences, to keep the non-car people entertained,
probably also for ratings ???
(which that aspect, reminds me of American Chopper)
Endless Mark-isms or the scripted or goofy, grab *** nonsense
most of US would say we could do without

would like more facts & more real tech, in-house restoration process
not just bought outsourced/subcontracted or aftermarket parts & assembly
(but; I'm sure it helps Mark's bottom line, with his suppliers)

(I'm totally a day 2 type guy, like the builds that are different too)

it is the only MoPar based show on cable TV
or I wouldn't even watch it, at all

There are definitely 2 sides to every coin. On the one side, the show serves to help perpetuate interest in the hobby and for that, GYC does it's job. HOWEVER - enough of the bullshit Worman. They are NOT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM O.E. RESTORATIONS - PERIOD. I would have much more respect for GYC if they just called their restorations what they truly are - "show-car restorations." Agree with Justin - why are these GYC cars not being O.E. judged if they are so correct?? Graveyard Clownz...

I remember seeing the green Duster build where he says the “Plymouth” emblem on the hood is fastened with these push in clips. Well my 70 and 72 Duster has nuts to hold the emblem on and has never been off the hood. Everybody has been wrong at some time.

It is an insult to the OE community to constantly have their worked compared to his polished turds.....most here don’t understand because it is not their interest and they just like eye candy.....that’s ok but for the OE crowd the countless hours, years of research and years of parts search and to have countless people compare our hard work and dedication to his junk is just wrong and has mislead the public...

Nothing real in reality shows. I worked on Overhaulin' a good while ago. The 1 week build really takes 3 months.

Some were not around here a few years ago when the "buzzard beak" himself and his "carless" hippo producer came here and posted in an old thread.........The producer was the "nail" in the coffin for me about the show itself......If Mark would just tone down a bit and label the restorations for what they are. I would change my opinion of him but I don't see that happening....

How many Mopar only shows are on the air? I like looking at the cars and if I leearnt sometin from that dumb show, then I'm good.

Not a fan of the show, try to watch it but the bullshit that goes on which ive been told by two of their customers, one of which ive actually talked to, is all scripted fake nonsense, fake or not, I'm still not a fan.
So having said that, this issue of OE restorations, if thats your thing great and if anyone is that much knowledgable of what it takes to do a OE restoration also great, my hat is off to you. The time involved, knowhow and willingness to invest that kind of money reflects your dedication.
What I do know is I had the chance to see one of Graveyard cars restorations up close and talk to the owner. He told me the cost for this type of work was reasonable and actually cheaper than some more local facilities. He told me Mark W does not act like the person he portrays on TV. Which makes me think why he does act like that on TV. He also told me Mark W is and I guess in his personal dealings a restorer who keeps in regular contact with his customers and is good to deal with.
The car done by Graveyard as far as body and paint was impeccable. I alone did not come to that conclusion, it was a few older life long auto body men who commented
Everything was immaculate on that car. Wether it was a correct OE car, I have no clue but it was no POS either.
Either way even if I had the money to invest in a car restoration of this caliber, id never even consider Graveyard cars.
Id use Dennis Kohrs of Kohrs Kustoms. Just a really great guy who knows his stuff and does outstanding work

Are you all talking about recent shows? What few shows I have seen , they have stopped the grab *** and goofy crap that used to be there. I think they have been very informative. NO they are NOT oe. My new 68 roadrunner had paint runs and poor fitting body panels , Seats ripped the seams before the warantee was up. However I never needed any mechanical warantee work done. I don't expect GYC customers actually want OE quality, they want better ( cut and buffed base coat-clear coat and better materials for the interior, show chrome on the bumpers, etc. ..............MO

Agree. Some of the assembly line work was flat sloppy. True oe restorations are not perfect. Overspray on purpose for example.
