From a buddy that worked on the lines back then.....says there were crashes right off the rollers. Some even ran the cars into each other racing them out to the holding lots for loading at the rail head. Probably happened on night shift lol
My brother worked in the STL assy plant back in 1970.
He told of a story of a Hemi equipped car that came off the line needing work. A guy was assigned the task of transporting cars from assy to repair. He hopped in and drove out of the building onto the road between the North and South plants and decided to open er up. He got to the other end and hit the brakes...nothing. He didn't bother to read the tag which said there were no brakes. He went through a fence, hit a rack of crated engines and into a parking lot, hitting a few cars.
Never proved who did it.
