Those are "Good #'s" especially for a heavy car with a SB, on a small tire...

Count me into the 10's. Rejetted the carb and ran 10.76 @ 124.49 this weekend. Driven to the track on pump 93 thru the pipes ! I was happy. Ron

Get that rollbar in that sweet 62 and go run 10's ! You only need a 6 point bar like I use and its not a problem really even driving on the street. Only if someone wants to climb in the back seat then its a pain. Ron

Yes thats the one me and my pops built it. That car is a sweet driver with a nasty attitude!!!!!

72 Charger SE, I remember lower river road. Only ran out there a couple times though. Most of the time we were running on the service road behind the old Firestone warehouse on 181st street right off I84 in Portland. This was private property owned by Firestone and they didn't have any complaints so the Cops couldn't bust us. It also had a painted starting and 1/4 mile line. Really sweet set up. Racing usually started around 11pm and ran until about 3 or 4am. Parking lot on the side for people to park in and be away from the starting line.
School kids started coming out and littering. We brought trash bags and asked them to throw their garbage in there but they didn't. Well the property owners complained about the trash and now the cops had a reason to kick us off!
After that it was a scramble all around town for spots. We'd meet in a parking lot and set up the first few races. When the younger rice burner kids asked where it was happening we'd give them a bogus spot and they'd head out while we did our runs.
By the way, all these spots were remote, away from ANY traffic pedestrian or vehicle, and we always respected the safety of others (as much as you can in street racing).
Lots of fun stories about all those times. Sure was fun though, but can't get away with that now! Man we had some WICKED cars showing up too. Full tube cassis, fiberglass bodied cars. Blower motors, Tons of nitrous cars too!
Well there you go ykf7b0, just a scratch of the surface of our street racing scene.
And NOTHING like that stupid "Fast and furious" movie they had. Probably where a lot of kids got their ideas for racing in town around lots of people..... hhhrrrrrrr!

By the way 72 Charger SE, did you cruise 99 there in Vancouver? I remember when that was SLAMMED and full of cars! Looked like American Graffitti x 10! Some awesome cruising there. Too damn bad the police and city didn't recognize what a good thing they had there. Businesses were booming through the night and ALL the kids were there in 1 place. They could keep an eye on them when they were there but once they broke it all up they scattered and then they had to chase them all over town because they had no place to go. delinquent crimes went up after that too.... go figure.
