Here's a pic of my ever so viscous Rott "Saydee" that I'm always fighting with the insurance company about "my boys best friend". She's 10 now and still going strong, unfortunately the insurance companies have given me so much grief it might be my last Rott "I love my Rotts". DSCN8616.jpg

Only one word for that picture 747Mopar . . . PRICELESS ! ! ! !

Rear passenger quarter panel . . .

The rear passenger quarter panel that I ordered from Amazon Prime had notified me that the shipment date of the product would be from 1/24 - 2/4 . . . so I figured I'd have a bit of a wait until it showed up . . .

So I got home form work yesterday and got a call from my neighbor that he has a UPS delivery at his shop for me . . . and guess what it was . . . the pael that was not suppose to arrived for another 8 days is already here ! !

sm_rearquarterarrived1.jpg

It not only was in a box, but the panel itself was completely wrapped with cardboard to protect it.
( The first one I ordered was not and got a corner crunched )

sm_rearquarterarrived2.jpg

So now I've got both rear quarters for installation in my car ! ! !

Forgot to post this last night as I was all excited about USARoadRunner getting his AlterKtion front end - Christmas in January ! ! !

Congratulations USARoadRunner . . . I'm really excited for him to get that installed . . . ( smile )

That's great, one more piece to play with. Boy is that going to be fun welding that in "good luck 67".

Titus just wanted to play with the neighbor's cat . . .

I'm out in the backyard, trying to split some wood for the fireplace, and Titus ( my 150 pound Great Dane ) is out with me - like usual. He's "very" interested in something in the lean-to and getting very agitated . . .

That's when it happened - the neighbor's cat finally gave up his hiding place and bolted . . . so did Titus . . . the cat was out-running Titus ( just barely ) and darting and looking for cover to throw him off . . . the chase lasted all of 30-45 seconds and ended up in the front yard . . .

Titus is wandering around and wondering why the cat doesn't want to play ? ?

sm_playtime.jpg

Yes, he knows he's up the tree and it took me a while to get him in the house so the cat could get down . . . ( sigh )

LOL, Thats rich man! Im one up on you this time, woods split, stove going and snow flying...... Just in time! lol Is it really to early to wish for Robins singing! Thanks for the laugh bud!!

Your a pretty nice guy "I let my dog eat the cats" haha. Ever since a cat scratched up a new paint job on one of my cars there hasn't been one around if you know what I mean.

Started on the mini-tub for the passenger side . . .

Last night I got started on the outer panel of the wheel well tub - going to follow Props suggestion and keep it away from the quarter panel except where it touches the wheel well lip. Started working on the small, tight area at the front of the well - slow progress as I'm having to do it with a bunch of tiny pieces. Not too worried - getting a whole bunch of welding practice ( which I'll be needing when I weld the panel in place ! ).

Decided to use the 16 guage metal panel that I bought by accident - since I've already got it. Going to put some very small bends in the metal at the top and bottom edges to help with strength - and at the well lip, to help tuck it up close to the quarter panel. Might even try out the bead roller I bought last year and try my hand at putting some beads in the metal too.

The replacement quarters do not appear to have the same amount of "lip" sticking out for the wheel well . . . I'll get pics and double check ( maybe I'm wrong ).

I like a nice flare to the wheel well. So, anybody got any suggestions on possible donor cars for replacement flares ? ?
( Just a thought )

Here's what happening with the de-humping of the wheel well . . .

Got some time out in the shop to work on the de-humping of the wheel well.

Here's what I've got going on with it:

In the bottom left you can see the work I'm doing on the confined area to rebuild the rotted out inner fender well . . . it's coming along.

sm_workwell1.jpg

And this is what the back side of the wheel well is looking like . . . ready to weld in the strips and get this done.

sm_workwell2.jpg

After I get this built - or at least established . . . I can cut off the quarter panel for replacement. Might as well use the messed up panel for fitment so that I don't do something stupid and mess up the good panel after it gets installed.

More work to be done . . .

Nice detail work there Khan. I also noticed the updated signature font for the thread call out .. cool :)

Nice work! A few times I've gotten items from Amazon a lot earlier than they posted. It's always a nice surprise. I grew up with Great Danes. They are characters, that's for sure. Part of the problem is that they do not think/know that they are dogs. When the kids get a bit older, we'll be getting another one.

Thanks ct71rr . . . The Danes are incredible. Why wait ? ? They are not called "Gentle Giants" for no reason . . . they are great with kids.

The only exception to that is . . . the tail . . . that I refer to as swinging rebar ! !

And when you get hit by it unknowingly, it can really hurt ! ! Of course, it's swinging cause they're happy and the don't mean to hurt you . . .

and they think they're lap dogs ( smile )

great danes are cool some of my friends had two of them. there washer and dryer looked like it was hit a 1000 times by a ball peen hammer from their tails. nice progress on the hot rod. no progress on mine. my work sucks!!!

Yeah, we had a 180 pound harlequin that had a bullwhip for a tail. Before we had to have it amputated, he hit it so hard against the corner of a wall, the end of the tail basically exploded. The living room looked like a crime scene. Before the Vet did the surgery, they found five previous breaks that had healed. He must have slit open his tail at least once a month it seemed.

Yeah ct71rr . . . I'm very aware of my dog wagging his tail and try and keep him away from hard objects like that. The injury is called "Happy Tail", although I don't really see anything happy about it . . . and once they break the tail open to bleed, it happens easier the next time. Curse of a dog with strong hind quarters and long tails . . .

But boy is it nice to come home and see that thing swinging in circles and figure 8's cause he's so happy to see me home ! ! ! ( SMILE )
