My 1969 Ivy Green Roadrunner 383 4 speed

Yeah that was a boner but he was probably just getting to the underside to strip parts. The other ideas look like good low tech solutions though. Hope it helps and I'm looking forward to your build

Wow that wood scares the hell out of me! I might try it on your car but not mine. LOL

To darn hot today

Progress wasn't as good as I wanted, was just to hot out there in the sun but I did make progress.

I now have the lip for the floor to butt up against. I'll cut out the rest of the bad metal before welding

You're really going to town on this. I see in the one photo that you were using that blanket. It does real good jod when you have to work from the ground, doesn't it?

Nice progress & get that thing indoors.... Move the 99ss Camaro outside for a while.... he he ha ha, like that will happen...

Welllll... all my cars reside outside unfortunately.... no room in the garage for anything. Damn thing just isn't deep enough. I have had the Camaro inside once in the past to swap the engine but I had to bow the garage door outward in order to close it. I don't think the Roadrunner would actually fit at all length wise.... House is to small and I need a shop...LOL

yea 108 is a bit much.. phew !.... I think it was 96 an I said no more. Going to continue too for a few days I heard.

That sucks, not having enough room, I hate having any cars uncovered or left outside for any period of time... good luck & have fun

Must be an older home, with that small of a garage... Are you renting ?? or do you own ??, even a carport or extend the front or maybe the rear of the garage with a awning, if you have the room, would be a great idea too, if you can in your neighborhood, well worth the investment... but if your renting your kind of screwed... they make some nice portable awnings/tent deals too...

We own but it was built in 98... in Oregon.. home of the Prius... you could two of those roller skates in there but not a real car.

Believe you me.. I've been looking at all the options.... its the leeway that's the killer 25 ft from the curb so the car port can only extend like 7 feet off the garage.... I just don't know how to make it work and be useful and legal. Really need to move but it ain't happening so I'm stuck making the best of it

That sucks... Good luck with that... I feel for you... I personally think the home builders/developers everywhere should "have to, build a garage a 20'x20' minimum", there's way too many cheap a$$ contractors/developers, I know scale down garages for the sake of profit or more houses per acre so to speak, it's so nominal profit or of property saving, it ain't really worth it, that's total BS to me, I would never do that....

Stay cool

Been welding and grinding and re-welding and more grinding and welding... it would have been a whole lot easier to replace the entire floor section but..... most of it was good and I cant see wasting good Detroit steel for the sake of convenience. None of the welds will ever be seen. Car has undercoating and that will cover all the welds and the sounds deadening on the interior will handle that part..... BUT it would have been incredibly easier than cutting patches and me learning how to metal work and shape and no matter how many times I cut it.... it was still to damn short.... LOL

But I am making progress :) I'll post some pics although some of it isn't pretty its effective and again.. ain't gonna be seen

Keep on keepen' on, it looks pretty damn good from where I'm sitten'...LOL... you've got more done on your car lately than I have on mine, too much house stuff & no car money, even if mine is far closer to being actually done... your doing a quality job

yea I hear ya... I have no money at all and the wife lost one of her jobs so its not looking good here...LOL
I will sell a car if I can get what I want for it. The Camaro is worth the most right now so it would be the first to go and them the BMW. That would hold things for a while and give me money to finish the Roadrunner and make it a daily driver. There are worse things in life than being down to one car and it being the 1969 Car of the year Plymouth Roadrunner. I figure 5k to have the quarters fixed and ready to paint and a few other things and a fender and its ready for paint. Those quarters in order to look good should have a pro welding them up... certainly not me...hahahahaha

I bought some cheap paint for the interior and will see how good it matches up to whats already on the car and go from there.

99ss what city in Oregon?
They keep saying things are looking up for the economy.
My wife has a part time job and I just lost mine.
Still trying to work out the balance between time and money.
Nice work on the roadrunner.
Are the flanges working?

I hope things gets better with the money end there 99, it would be to bad to have to sell your Camaro, wanting to and having to are different events, ive been there a couple times but we do what we have to and you cant go wrong putting the cash into that car of the year! Good luck!!

We live in ST Helens but she works in Portland. We'll make it by.. the Camaro is nice and super fast but there are more important things in life, if it has to go I wont look back or second guess it... it will be gone.

Ideal would be to sell it and aquire a 57 Bel Air and have the Roadrunner and the 57... but you know how that goes...LOL.

Been working on it.... sand blasting and using picklex20 on it... Will blast the roof one more time then pickle it and then its time for primer and paint on the interior :)

That's some real great looking patch work. Like how you did the steering column hole.

Nice progress you have been making. What is this pickle stuff? I've never heard of it.
