I see. And here I thought you and Mr. Cranium had something going on with pickles.

Welll.... it does smell like vinegar to tell ya the truth... overwhelming stench.. I don't like pickled anything.... LOL

I like this RC's "pickle"

I ended up going to their website and watched a video on this stuff. If it works like it did in the video this stuff is truly amazing. It dissolved or converted the surface rust on a piece of metal in 30 seconds. He sprays the stuff on and you watch it disappear.

Must be just another brand of rust dissolver using phosphoric acid?

I blasted the roof as best I could and then used the picklex to prep.

The fire wall patch again and my less than good welding skills...LOL... but to be honest it will all be covered in undercoating and wont be seen. This car had undercoating everywhere. Shame to remove some of it to be honest. The paint underneath is still factory fresh.

Rains coming soon enough around here. I have a blue tarp I keep the car under that is backed up but 6 mil poly. Keep the rain out and actually makes a nice tent when while working on the interior.

Doing what I can with what I have. Looking for a running 383 in anything right now to buy cheap...LOL
69 would be great but a running engine is all I need. After I finish the interior I have the trunk and tail panels to deal with and the quarters but .. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel right now and am getting excited to drive it

The interior roof came out pretty clean. I saw that pickle stuff when I was at summit racing today walking around. Glad you're getting some work done on it.

Sweat, gotta love the RR's.

Got the official paint codes from the local mopar guru in Vernonia :) Great guy to deal with and talk to Meyers auto
I can buy paint for the interior .. the tan colors

I think I'm going to have to get me some of that pickle stuff to try out on the Coronet. It really is a noticable difference in those pics 99ss. Looking good!

your efforts here prove once again that no 2 are alike when it comes to these restos.

Nice patch work, very tedious and very creative work.

Thank you Dave, I wish I could weld better.. it would look a lot nicer ...LOL I don't have the money for new metal so I have to work with what I've got. This car is mostly so solid though.. The 1/4 are going to be interesting as well as the tail section but I expect to see more of the same unless I can sell the Camaro and then I can have some money to spend. I really want to keep as much original metal on this car as possible though. Everywhere I look and clean up is a stamped number of some sort...LOL
It wont be a winning show car but will be a solid proud semi survivor :)

Some serious issues:
100_5669.jpg100_5673.jpg
The frame rail ends are rotted I need the last 2 feet or so of them and the don't make patches for it. You have to buy the whole rails at $399 each or find donors. I am looking for donors or specs so I can fab my own

This is a major issue with no money...LOL I need $1000 worth of sheet-metal to finish the body not counting a fender and deck lid.

IF someone needs frame rails but not the whole thing let me know and we can work a deal on a set

Found used rails at Wildcat for 250/piece .. which is better but I hate to cut a good rail for only 2 feet of them and its still $500 more than I have

Did you blast the rest of the rear frame to check for weak areas? I thought just the tail ends were bad on my Charger until blasting revealed another bad spot in the drivers side wheel well area which I didn't know about.

Chris, there is a guy that sells the back half of the frame rails for about half the cost and they are new metal. Don't have the contact info as it is in another email section. Somebody might know who/what i'm talking about. Ron73 told me about them.
