No fuel to carb

Should be a PVC valve where the 'stopper' is. So, probably considering the condition the motor is in (lot of miles), yeah, most likely going to smoke some.
Oil breather cap, where you put oil in, should be on driver side valve cover.

Well the pcv valve is on the driver's side valve cover and a bit towards the front of the motor on the grommet side is the cap where the oil goes in. Thinking i need to reduce blow back and crankcase pressure so it needs a breather cap

Well, at least you got the thing where it would fire off. Even if it moans a little.
Don't know particular difs between auto/motorhome motors, if any. (Yeah, know there probably is.) Good thing is it can be built up any way you want it!

If it has blow back...only one thing will help that...parts inside.

I thought having a breather cap and a PCV valve hooked up it helps prevent that

Breather cap and oil cap is the same thing. The cap has wire mesh inside it, that allows the motor to breath (not create a vacuum). Just a path to open air.
PVC valve is normally hooked up via a hose, that feeds back into the carb base, or intake manifold. That's for re-burning un-used gas/oil feeding back into the cylinders.
If blow back is excessive...simply means parts inside the motor are wore out. Parts like piston rings, valve guides, valve guide seals, and so on.

Any idea how many miles on the motor?

This is a 4 hole manifold correct

That is a very strange manifold since it only has two holes for bolting down the carburetor. Sure it's not an industrial one for propane or some other thing? How about a picture from a little further up, showing more of the manifold?

DISREGARD THIS DUPLICATE POST

DISREGARD THIS TRIPLICATE POST.....LOL

Its a spreadbore manifold. I bought an adapter. I didn't concentrate on the whole manifold as I was curious about the hole not the bolt holes

So there are a total of 4 threaded holes for mounting the carburetor, even though we can't see the other two?

No, sir. A 4-hole manifold would actually have four separate holes.
I have never seen one like that before...primary and secondary cut together...maybe each side fuels each bank on the motor? Not even sure what carb fits that.
Maybe one of the other guys will chime in for you on that. Might be looking at needing to use an adapter plate (to match up with the carb you want to use).
The other bolt holes a are cast separate and not in the pic...
73- when you are at AutoZone they have a gallon of carb cleaner that you can soak the carb in for a day or two. Take the bowls off and soak it for a day or two, buy a rebuild kit and put it back together, holleys are pretty simple. It sound's like it needs some cleaning

Got a new (used) to me 4bbl and started it today and it idled pretty good

What on the motor was smoking?

Man started it again today it idled regularly but man it was smoking all over enough that you would think you were in a cheech and chong movie. There was also a very little white smoke coming out the tailpipe

Sounds like the 'old' gal is talkin' to ya! Heck, man, turn her back into a 18-year-old, and you'll probably git what you want!!!

Well shes speaking french cause i cant really tell why its smoking soo much

Engine or tail pipes?

Engine and I think i have figured it out as it was running for a bit before it started and it was voming from between the exhaust manifold and valve cover. So i think its a valve cover gasket

That's why their there, as long as their hooked-up right...yes, it will help.
Sealing up your valve covers will help a bunch, too! Glad you found it!

Lets hope so. Since it has been running i noticed my thermostat housing which I put back together is leaking, the bottom radiator hose it took me 6 days to find is leaking where it joins to the water pump, and the brand new 3 row champion radiator i bought is also leaking.
