Here are pictures of the vent window:

Here is the bracket the holds the front of the vent window assembly

Here is another shot from further out
IMG_1653.jpg

This is the best picture I have of the bolt that bolts through the metal bracket in the corner. Note that in this picture, only the vent window on the left has the bolt sitting in position. It looks like a hex head bolt...

Am stuck / can't remember and have no photo of, how is the vent glass frame secured. Have a bolt in front top corner but what about top back ? (nut and bolt? ), and bottom front ?
Bracket in 2nd photo I assume is a glass stopped to limit how far window goes up and down but where does it go ?
Help,

Thanks Tony

The stop your holding up looks like the one that goes to the rear quarter windows (all the way in the back you should find 2 slotted holes for it).

Here's another piece you'll need.

Thanks for the photo Hawk, I have that bracket, another mystery solved.
Checked my fuse box as you said and there is no power coming into the accesy fuse, therefore none coming out. The plot thickens.
Thanks 747mopar, have already got the stopper in the rear quarter window and the one I am holding in bigger than the one you are holding. I may have them back to front as I often do.
Have to pack up todays car work as we are going out of town for the afternoon/evening to my partners parents 50th wedding annv.
Will follow up these leads in 24hrs or so.
Thanks again for the help.
Tony

Hope these help, wish I could have gotten a better pic. If I remember correctly the bolt that I posted is the one that goes in the slotted hole in the galvanized portion right under the rear of the vent window. I'll be opening up my door sometime soon to deal with a sticking thumb button so if you have any further questions I can snap some pics.

Damn that phone, to hell with it I'll just tear the door apart and get pics with the camera (it has to come apart anyhow).

Progress, found the captive bolt and plate nut you have in the photos Hawk, have fitted these. Have fitted the rear channels. Looking at the diagrams 747mopar has posted I have the Up Stops in backwards, I have fitted the door ones in the back windows. About to remedy this now.

I just this very day experienced the overwhelming joy and happiness of re-installing the driverside vent and window in my GTX. The very first pic you posted is indeed the front most mount for the vent frame. It bolts into the inside corner of the door and provides the mount for the almost open ended wrench looking leg of the vent frame assy. There was a threaded post on mine and it uses a nut with a very wide flange( is called a fender washer or fender bolt???) to secure the vent frame to it.
Wish I had known you were needing this , I would have taken some pics for you.

Vent frame in

Thanks for the help guys, got the vent frames in and secured. Door glass channels in too , will get glass in this week.
Made a bracket to hold hand brake spring / Made some tabs to secure licence plate light.
I need new cat wiskers for the door glass but have made some temporary ones for now.
Turns out I did have the Up Stoppers back to front, classic me. Hope I got it right this time.

You are a man with a mission! While I have been here whining about the cold and not getting much done on my car, you have been making significant progress! Good Job!

Let us know how the final adjustment of the front frame, vent window, window, etc. goes. There seems to be a fair bit of adjustability, so I bet it is something that needs some patience and many small adjustments to get it all right - maybe I am wrong?

Hawk

Great job on the window fuzzies Tony, very ingenious. As Hawk says the window adjustments can be very frustrating, just stay patient and eventually they line up together.

X3 those windows are a pain to get perfect, one adjustment here means re-adjusting another over there and on and on.

I imagine the adjusting will happen once I get the door glass in. Might be ringing you Glenn for some advice where to start. Adjusting the rear quarter glass was as you say 747mopar , bit here changes something else there. Found a photo of when I pulled my glass out and there were 2 Up Stoppers in both rear sides but none in the front, go figure.
Picked up a temporary washer bottle for front screen today. Bonus is it lines up with 2 existing holes in the engine bay. Will sit beside the horn. Also got some new blades for the wipers.
Might have another look at my HP exhaust manifold TO exhaust pipe flange join today, still got small leaks both sides. Flat filed the pipe flanges other day ,may have to take manifolds off and do same to them. Not what I want to do but has to be done.
AUto sparky coming tomorrow and if he can get my lights working I will look at trying to get car certified for the road next week. Finger crossed.

Can't claim to know any magic tricks Tony other than follow the service manual and persevere. There are a couple of threads on here that I remember reading but can't seem to find them at the moment. You may find that you'll have to readjust the qtr glass again when the door glass is in though.

Decided late in the day to try and fit the driver side door glass, copied what you did Glenn and it went in surprisingly well. Only need minor adjustments. My homemade cat whiskers work good too, bonus.

Sparky

Auto sparky came today and we have solved my issues.

No park lights were caused by the relavent fuse holder sinking/melting into the fuse box, now fixed.
Dimer switch had a broken wire( resistor wire), which meant no instrument lights. He is going to mend this.
Wiper motor was the cause of the wipers not working. He is going to try and fix this.
He is also fixing the heater fan resistor.
Got me to run an earth wire between the rear tail lights, one was a bit dim, nice and bright now.
Got me to replace a conector . Soldered join instead
I have got a tempory washer bottle and he showed me how to wire this in.
He will install a horn button until I find an original steering wheel.
He hopes to return on thursday.
Got the door glass in, RR emblems on, door locks in ( these refuse to work , it's as if I have got the wrong key ?)

Wow, you are gaining on it now!

Glad you got your electrical issues figured out; they can be a pain in the butt to trace. I likely will have some grounding (earth) issues as well since everything like the car body and dash are all freshly painted. I probably need to invest in a stack of toothed washers to be sure I get some bite through painted surfaces and get good grounds. I bet this was (is) you problem with your one tail light. Be sure it can get a good ground through the body and you will be able to ditch the added ground wire.

Almost there!

Yep you are gaining.... NICE back lights! You never can have enough grounds on that car, and they always seem to come into the equation with electrical problems and for what ever reason, Mopars LOVE grounds :) You do have it coming your way and shes a beauty!!!

Thanks Hawk and Ron, the new paint always gets in the way of grounding wires.

Fixed my exhaust leaks. Flange on pipe where it joins the manifold was wavey as hell, took some major filling but came up good. Also found 5 pin hole leaks in pipe joins so welded these up . Re-fitted the system and NO LEAKS.
Front sway bar fitted .
Today I will fit a High Stop brake light and a horn button.

Big News is I have booked her in on wednesday for the certification for road legal. Hopefully there will only be couple of things to fix and I could be cruising next weekend.

HEY! make sure the cruising works out good bud!!!! Its still winter here, i dream of heading down the high way... ENJOY!!!
