Starting a new build for my 65 Plymouth Belvedere

looking great and 975 horse power you got to love it keep the up dates coming

Going to get fitted tomorrow in the cage tomorrow. Will get some pictures of the new roll cage.

here's one
572
KB Water Block
Stage V(std valve Angles)
.616"/.640" Roller Cam(very easy on parts as the customer is a Street guy))
91 Octane pump gas..... and NO... we did not push the detonation range, it is very safe.
Already has 2 seasons and 8,000 miles on the Street.
We got it up past 925hp on the 2nd Day, sry, can't find those 2nd day sheets ?

We've done others(same pump gas builds) with Cast Iron Blocks.... which were good for 955hp, just seem to make better power than the Aluminum versions... albeit alot HEAVIER !

975 hp should be a great ride !

You don't need to be fitted for a cage. Just tell him 2x.

Stopped by C + F today today the car looks great can't wait to see it finished.

How fast is the car?
Doug

my old 584 ci hemi with mega block with indy 426-1RA heads with .737 lift solid roller cam and 13.5 compression made 931 HP.
Best ET was 9.26 @146 mph.
The new motor should make maybe 50 hp more. I think the aluminum block should hurt the power some.

I'm going up this morning, these guys don't fool around. Brought it up on Monday and should be done next week. That's called NO CHASSIS PRISON.

I really dunno, I've never asked the customer ?
I know he has been to the track a few times ? but he is primarily a street car, full pop B-Body, leafs, foot launched, etc., limited tire, so I don't expect his E.T. is that fast ? ...... but his mph would still be decent.

Dome configuration is all important on a HEMI.... IMO, moreso than actual Static or Dynamic C.R. pressures on std Valve Angle stuff as it relates to "when" you let it scavenge.
We've seen 65hp gain on the Dyno dropping a FULL POINT of C.R., but propagating the burn rate better.... go figure !

Well, C & F Racecars is transforming my car perfectly.

That will save you some weight.

so are they going to do a dash bar &
full over head continuous hoop a cross bars &
down bars in the front thru or next to the dash

what kind of cage are they building or adding ??

why not add a removable wheel that's easy peasy deal ??

or are you trying not to alter the car much in that aspect ??

just curious

no

moly cage with bar across the upper window

why not add a removable wheel that's easy peasy deal ??

because my original wheel is mint and that's not an option

or are you trying not to alter the car much in that aspect ??

yes

just curious

i know

Looks like it will be done by the weekend. 1 week start to finish.
We tried to fit me for the funny car cage and it is virtually impossible for me to get in and out of it.

All attached and just need to get up to the chassis shop to make the legs and floor mount. Easier to do it now with carpet and interior out
