Bumpers have had the chrome ground down on them and are ready for primer, but i dont have any pictures of them yet, didn't have a chance before heading back to work. Ill see if my uncle can send me some. We where talking about ideas for the stripe. He said i should put some sort of Satellite logo in place of the roadrunner. Came up with this idea using my computer. What do you guys think?

Just a rough idea i was playing with.

How about the NASA logo but replace the NASA text with the script Satellite emblem text?

The actual satellite images you threw up look kind of detailed and complex for a car emblem, imho.

I'm totally going to copy your car, by the way. :eek:ccasion14:

The NASA logo is a good idea Killi. Thanks Ill play with that see if i can come up with a design. Ya that satellite is definitely too complex but it was just for the idea. My dad suggested i use Sputnik cause its so well known and a simple design. Try and make both of those and post them up here.

Thanks man that is a huge compliment. Happy to answer any questions you have. Where are you at with your car?

Great work.... Keep us posted as you close in on the finish. Love te attention to detail and the creative solutions to both the mechanical and aesthetic challenges.

Way to go man!!!!

Thanks guys i appreciate the support! 73 Ive been following your build too its turning out awesome! One clean car!

Here are a few more logo ideas I've been playing i with. I made the nasa one, and another version of the orbit.

All just rough ideas, ill have a friend with some more artistic talent do the final version.

Heh... I'm a long way out. Breaking down the front end to rebuild and repair the frame rails. I'm due to post some updated pictures.

The bumper tucks and the tailpipes look great... I'm planning to do body-color bumpers... cobalt body and a white stripe.

Sweet man i just read your most recent post. Making progress and i really like that color combo.

Just got an update on my car from my uncle, the doors have been stripped and are ready for primer and the bumpers are epoxied and will get primer when he does the doors. Next he's gonna have to pull of the front fenders to re-seal the seams under there. While i was pulling the lower windshield trim off the original seam sealer just fell out. Explained where my moister problem was coming from thought.

Here's a few pics for you guys.

Little update, new door hinges are on, fender is off and the seam that was leaking is prepped to be re sealed.

Well the drivers door now in primer. Next is the fender and the drivers side will be complete. Oh the seam below the window is also fixed, sealed, primed and painted but i dont have a good picture of that right now.

While looking at other members cars and threads, i really liked Buzilla's front spoiler. So i decided to add one to my car. My uncle came up with the idea of extending it up sorta of like the 71 front spoilers. This is the result.

I really like what he came up with!

The drivers side spoiler tip is done. I think it looks bitchen. He should have the other tip should be done Monday and the rest of the car is stripped and ready for body work. I'm beyond excited.

Cant wait to see it with the new bumper tuck look! And you do, rightfully so, sound excited! :)

Your car is really coming along, won't be long before it is all in primer. Front spoiler will really look good on her. Can't remember if you said or,are you going body color on the bumpers?

Thanks for the kind words of support guys! I'm really exited about the spoiler. Every thing on this car is turning out even better than imagined.

73 same here. I haven't seen the front cropped bumper on the car yet. After its all primed we are gonna test fit every thing before sending it off to paint. I'll definitely be posting those pictures.

RRman, ya im gonna paint them body color, yellow, i thought about rechroming them but it costs an arm and a leg to have that done. We had to grind the chrome off with a DA and then epoxy and then body work and prime them to make sure my uncle had a good surface to work with.

yeah chrome isn't cheap, but it looks soo good on those cars.

Oh no doubt! I was anxious about painting it at first but im pretty excited about it now.

a buddy has $1200 in the bumpers on his '71.

Wow i can believe it. My dads got a 71 Satellite as well, I wanna start a restoration on that after my 74 is done.
