Time to hit the Track.

So the dana came out today, bent perches cut off and dana is back in place. Will pick up the new perches in the morning and get back at it.

The first thing I did was build a bracket to hold the dana. Actually works great. Can spin it 180 degrees and work on the perches. Sure makes it easier when doing this stuff solo.

Damn perches sure flattened out on the back. Both sides bent, the right side was worse.

Back in place, will slip the new perches under and get it bolted up, on the wheels, set the pinion angle, tack in place, then pull it back out and weld/box them good, but thats tomorrow's job.

Excellent video Doug and your car sure leaves nicely. Poetry in motion. Watching all the cars closely on how they leave a guy can see how the leaf spring cars rise where the bar cars don't. Sure liking those ladder bars..

Mike, it will be October 18-21 (at the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion race) before the air is good enuf in California for me to get a 9.999 time slip....so you will probably beat me to it...
My next race is on Sept 15th and the air is usually in the range of 2200/2500 that time of the year...not good enuf air for me to get a 9.999 time slip on that date.
Remember, I still want your car.
 
Well guys, time to try this all over again. Hoping that I can get this old Plymouth to start making some decent runs, start to finish. Those crushed spring perches may have been my omen for some time.. We shall see.
Buddy Wookie will be there too, good weekends for all of our Mopars guys!

This was my last time out. Look at that rear end separation! Crazy. This is just about the time when traction goes away and then the rodeo starts... Hoping to be going forwards this weekend.

So an update while watching it rain at the track. Got the wind out day ran so far. Car is working much better. Only had 1 practice round so no tuning.
Car has gone. 10.21. 130 mph and consistent 1.41 60’ with one 1.39 60’
Went 4 rounds and then broke out. On the brakes at 10.21 and 123. But it’s coming together.
Got one test run in at 10.24 with 4200’ air.
Will try and get a video up later.
So we are finally getting somewhere.
