Nice histories on these user names. Far more interesting and meaningful than mine. Mine simply dates back to the early days of semi-public access to the Internet.
Back when I first started "surfing" and researching on the 'net, we all used Unix machines, or dialed into them. Yes, I'm talking about "Text-based browsers" like "LYNC".
Back in the late '80's and early '90's, when you set up an account, the userid was traditionally your first initial and last name, but the caveat was that they generally had to be at least 6 characters. With a 4-letter last name, some sysadmin/root user added the trailing "1" to make it 6 characters and got me setup.
Well, fast forward a few years, and I had been working on a help desk (back when we really helped users, and did it stateside), but had moved on within the company. I emailed one of my old colleagues for some obscure file or some such, and he responded with "Do I really See Bunt one??? Long time no type..."
From that point forward, the "cbunt1" thing really stuck, and although it doesn't seem really unique, it has proven to be so over the years. I'm the same cbunt1 on all the forums I visit, and people from long-ago-past have been able to find me throughout the world like that (not always the best thing, but not a bad thing either).
So....when you "see bunt one" it's really me. That's all there is to it, nothing really meaningful, just an old inside joke!
