What did you do to your Mopar today?

Sorry not phosphate. It was Caswell Black Oxide. Very simple to use. I dipped mine in WD 40 after coating. Then coated them in Rust Preventive Magic once dried for extra protection. Parts should be spotless for good coverage. I bead blasted then I put the brake clean to them. Rubber gloves right. Don't want the oils off your hands to contaminate the results.

I just went back there to edit my post. Apparently I can't change it. It must have time limitations to do so.

Morning internet browsing fluke of the day!

Bought the correct pie tin for the Wife's '67 Formula S Barracuda. First time that I've ever seen one for sale....
1967 = COMMANDO 1968 = SUPER COMMANDO... or so I'm told!

Drilling spotwelds...a very tiring task. I'm removing the entire panel, making a new flat panel for the fuel cell/pump mounting and plug-welding the new one in place, HOPEFULLY to look OEM. But, we'll see?! An original Southern Tennesee car, no undercoating & rust-free, never crashed, very straight 318/727/8-3/4 Belvedere II car I picked up in July. From what I was told, this car had been on FB Marketplace for 3 years with no takers. I looked at it a year before but I hadn't sold the Whale at the time and other circumstances kept me from buying it. Nonetheless, it must have had my name on it!?!

When I fired up my GTX last weekend it wouldn’t crank with the key, I had to bypass the starter relay on the firewall. After some basic troubleshooting I determined that the NSS has failed. There’s no continuity to ground at the brown wire on the relay with the trans in P or N. It cranked with the key after I grounded the terminal with a jumper. I just ordered a USA made replacement from Rick E’s eBay store, it should show up sometime next week.

Finally got time to start on the front suspension rebuild. 30+ yr old bushings need to be replaced. Took off the sway bar and pass. side T-Bar and LCA. My HF shop press made pressing the pin out easy and a cut-off wheel made quick work of the inner bushing sleeve, but needed a hacksaw and chisel to get the outer sleeve out. Had to stop and get cleaned up for dinner guests so hoping to get back on it tomorrow.

Sure was some dirty *ss work, needle scaler did a heck of a job…few more hours of clean up work and should be good to go. Good news is rust free tin under all that mess.
I have found that most undercoated cars have survived better then the ones that weren't.

Replaced the motor mounts on the convertible

Doing the trans mount next, the new one was in my way for weeks, had to keep moving it. Now that I'm ready to install it, can't find it.

After working on my interior every day all last week, spent a couple of hours and finally finished today.

Long overdue, after installing the TKX 5-Speed & Sniper EFI Q1-2 2023 it'll be nice to have a clean interior with all insulation in place.

Happy New Year!

his tools. wicked blade huh?
Miss you Dad.

Making slow, but steady progress on the front end rebuild between work and other projects. Been busy cleaning and repainting parts. Hopefully the installation will go relatively quick once that's done.

Got the sway bar and mounting brackets ready to go along with most of the passenger side suspension. Took a bit of trial and error to come up with a method to install the sway bar bushings. Once I figured it out, the 2nd one went a lot faster.

Still need to press in the control arm bushings and then I can put that side back together and start on the driver's side.

You are a braver man than I. I have only worked on one of those, for a project my son had. I rebuilt the 727 style front end, and I took the O.D. chunk to my local Dodge store to let the pro's rebuild it.
