What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Purdy.....impressive too. What will it be used for?
For Ham radio. It is a loading coil to make the 80M vertical electrically longer to work on 160M. The coil adds about 45' of length in 12" of coil. I finally burned up the 160M relay in the tuner running power and using the tuner to match the antenna for the radio, so now I am doing it the correct way. Got a new relay and relay board coming to fix the tuner, so I don't burn it up again.

Had to pour a curb to get this walkway right. Still sweeping sand into the joints

I used more of the large pavers than anticipated because of the curved edge where I avoided using the smaller ones. As a result I came up 6 pavers short and had to fgo back for more (I bought 2,440 initially). So what do I do? Tear out some more. I decided to pave off the driveway and around the garbage cans. Back to work!

Final talley:

40,000 lbs of rock
17,000 lbs of sand
33,000 lbs of pavers

90.000 lbs total

Just got back from Baytown.....not bad though as he lives on the southwest side of Baytown and was 30 miles round trip to get this little booger. At least it was for free but it put a stop to what I need it for....

Took the mountain bike to Gettysburg battlefield, for some exercise. Did 8.36 miles in 39:20. Damn I'm out of shape :(

Nice sunset when I got back to the jeep to load the bike on the rack:

Awesome job, but that looks too much like work. Real backbreaking work. work.

Well, when i got down to the 180 pound weight, from 230 pounds, when i started dieting to loose weight, i promised myself, when i did it, I would go and purchase myself a new handgun, for me, on the accomplishment in loosing 50 pounds off this old mans body.
Haven't purchased any kind of firearm in probably 15+ years.
I'm one pound away from my goal of 180, at 181.
So today, i went around the Sacramento, CA. area, at some of the gun shops that are here around town.
I want to buy one of those CZ (Czechoslovakia Republic) guns, after doing my research on them, being a quality firearm, and accurate.
Boy, all the BS that one has to go through, now a days, out here in Commiefornia, in purchasing a firearm.
I can remember back in 1980, when i discharged out of the Air Force, all that was needed was my DD-214, discharge paper.
Not any more.
Times have sure changed.

I've bought a few lately but nothing much to brag about except for a .22 bolt action and a .22 automatic pistol....but buying from an individual where that's still pretty easy and before they kill that market by making it illegal or something.

Pulled the covers on the poop tank and put the tank tester in there. All good... Pulled the outlet filter for the tank, Cleaned & Rinsed with the hose, and reinstalled it. Good to go for another 12 months.
Did a few touchups on the stain for the decks. Just getting things ready for winter. Snow expected next week.
Started cleaning a few parts for the Charger.
Did up a rack of BBQ ribs and started cooking. That'll be tonights dinner.

Took the grandkids to the local regional airport to watch planes and helicopters take off and land. It was a good for them to experience something new. My 4 1/2 year old granddaughter has the attention span of a gnat and enjoyed the time for 5 minutes, while my 2 year old grandson enjoyed it much more.

Trying to pull out the old liner in my ancient Millermatic 200 MIG machine....done it once about 20 years and remember it being pretty simple but nothing is pretty simple for me anymore...

Adopted a rescue Doberman. Meet Mina, 7 year old 93 pound love bucket. She is so happy to have a big back yard and a place to hang out with people.

Sprung for a new MIG hose/liner today.....now I need to spool off a couple of rounds of wire to get rid of the stuff that's not looking so good. Also doing some clean up in the shop and getting rid of stuff that will never be used.

I pulled lower control arms off a 69 Dart at the local Pick-N-Pull, down the street from me, at their 25% off sale, that's going on.
I haven't pulled LCA's in years, and now that i'm 51 pounds lighter, getting under a car, and sides of a car, is a whole lot easier, for this 70 year old guy.

Ya, me too.
When i see some human beings, over at the Mather VA, that are in sad shape, i always say to myself, that i don't get like them.
But, I'm feeling good for myself, with the existing medical conditions that i have, and the ones that i have gone thru, in the past.
Keep the fingers crossed.

Installed a bed cap removal system for the Dodge//Cummins W250 Power Ram on the garage side of the new outbuilding this morning.
