What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Around late 73 a bud bought a used but nice Suburu....he Armor All'ed the complete interior almost every week and before long, everything that was exposed to the sun either curled up or split open. Don't know if the product caused that or if it was about ready to do that when he bought it but it left a desire for me to not use it lol.
Makes you wonder, I've heard both good and bad stories about the stuff. Your friend must have been an early adopter, ArmorAll wasn't even patented until 1976.

My timeline is probably off.....lots of stuff happened in the 70's including too many parties etc. It was probably later on since I had only gotten out of the military in around April of 73 and he was still in.

I know there was a recall on the leather dashboards on the WK2 Grand Cherokees (I think 2011-2020) because they were warping and peeling. I have that dash in my '14. Haven't put a drop of anything on it...flat, where it belongs, no bubbles at all. I suspect people who armor all them is what caused the recall problem.

Don't get me wrong, I'll use the stuff on interior plastics to prevent chalking...but I don't want my leather to be all greasy and slimy. Damp rag Is all I use.

wife and i changed 8atv tires . i do have a lever bead breaker ( which worked surprisingly well) and 2 harbor freight tire spoons . went better then i thought it would. the extra set of hands helped out huge!!! the jaw brake shaft was sieved so it ended to that , and the wheels where down to primer….
p.s. the tires on the 94 law were oem . i’m surprised the broke so easy ….

Yesterday, up at 4AM, back home by 11PM, drove 1500KM (about 900 miles), to pick these up. Not slowing down in retirement apparently. Clean them up today and take stock of condition, red one is pretty mint, blue one is okay but I'll sell the blue one to pay for the gas for my trip anyway.
Pretty much priced out of Mopar projects so bikes keep me busy these days.

Is that a GS 650?

Installed a pair of night lights in the stairwell both top and bottom in my palatial lakefront estate.

Worked on my son’s Explorer. It sounded horrible when he stopped by last night, one of the idler pulleys had a catastrophic bearing failure. I ended up changing all 3 idlers and threw in a new battery for good measure…

I bought the kind that plugs into the existing wall outlets and they are directional and have sensors to turn them on at night.

Good to see one NHRA track that's not closing down.....

The one at the bottom of the stairs was a simple replacement of an existing outlet, but I had to cut in the one at the top and tap off another outlet.

You need one of those chair lifts to get you up and down the stair, and a Medic Alert bracelet!

Another (hopefully final) coat of mud, installed backer board on the floor, cut and laid the floor tile, framed the door opening and installed drywall above. Test fit the door. I have the old trim in took off, for around the door - but waiting till the washer/dryer are installed before I put that on. The washer is 27" wide. Doorjamb to doorjamb...27.25".

The big hole opens to a bedroom closet and has a cabinet door on it, for emergency access to hookups if needed.

Still need the mud to dry, to sand and paint...and the tile to set so I can grout and add a threshold piece...and to final-install the overhead light (supported by it's wiring at the moment)...but the washer dryer gets delivered Tuesday...so stuff needs to dry fast lol.

If paint isn't perfect...meh. It's a laundry closet.

They put a lot into the track as it went under new ownership a few years ago. Kenny Koretsky bought it so a drag racer having it is a good thing.

Spent the day on the river.

Morning has broken.

We're fishing salmon and I hooked this 50+ inch sturgeon. Sturgeon is closed and Keith tossed him back.

We ended up with 5 Chinook and 1 jack. Nothing with any size but good eatin'!

That's just cool as hell! Love your vision. And execution. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Thank you, I just play. I'm trying to make it as simple as possible. The long miter will be the only one. I'll build the frame around it next and then the front end of the fenders as the lay with the frame. The hood and filler between the grill and the bumper last.
