What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

I was out in the driveway last night cking tire pressures in the wife's car. Once I had the drivers side done, then walked around to ck pass side and this little guy was coming out from under her car.

It kind of startled me a bit . But he was in a bit of a hurry to get away from me
He was maybe 22-23 inches long, about 1-1/2" at the thickest point

I grabbed a long utensil to move him along over to the side yard away from the house / sidewalk area and he went about his business.
Even with me messing with him, not once did he try to strike the tool I was using. He wanted to get away as fast as I wanted him gone.
Looked like maybe he was missing part of his tail rattle.

And no I will not kill them.
I've lived here almost 6 years, and this is only the 3rd snake ive seen on property, 2nd rattlesnake
1st one was a 4 ft bull / gopher snake
2nd one was a 12-14 inch rattle snake, that one was pissed I was helping him get off the road , He did NOT want my help and made sure I knew it.

Other than walking around my neighborhood three times a day, each walk one mile, i now also am also on my bicycle this morning working on my distance that i can go, without conking out.
Want to work up so i can do a 20 mile round trip on the American River bicycle trail, to the Nimbus Dam, in Folsom, California.

It's finally done

Tested, working, no leaks...and RENTED. Coworkers needed a place. One looked today, "yep, we'll take it". Partner coming to look tomorrow to be sure.

Now ..to clean.

Took the party boat out, changed the oil, cleaned it and dropped it off at the boat storage place.

Also, had a local welder add some structural bracing on the boat lift bunk supports. Picked those up yesterday and reassembled the lift this morning.

It is now with the decking off.
Mine was 5/4 pressure treated. I sealed it every year. Under the roof they looked new after 20 years. The swim platform was 14×32, uncovered. The sun was not my friend.

Most of mine is plastic, but I have two narrower 4' sections with cedar planking ( because they don't make plastic for it). Every year I clean those and coat them with Thompson's water seal.

When I had mine, they didn't have plastic.

I bought two bikes last Friday that haven't run since 1983 and 1995. Been going through them and got the red one (keeper) going yesterday and the blue one today.

I just wait for the 2 x 6's to rot and replace them. Cheaper than stain...
The whole dock was 32×42. It was easier to roll it than, unscrew the old and screw back the new.

Bought this Schatz anniversary clock at a garage sale for $5, the pendulum spring was broke. Ordered up and installed a new spring but the thing would stop after about 40 minutes. Did a little research, adjusted lever and escape wheel as it was "out of beat" and the fork needed some adjustment. Started it back up and still only ran about two hours. Hmmmm, added a little super light oil to the moving parts and it is running fine now. Just letting it run a full 24 hours before adjusting the speed. Wonder if this repair makes me a horologist now?

Had a 12 hour shift today. Being all the young whippersnappers took it off for various reasons.

NOW THEY OWE! Lol.

I finally had time to make a proper assembly table for the new shop. All in, with the carpet, it was around $130.

Helped dig out this 1929 model A truck. Been in the same spot where my uncle parked it in the early 60s. Has a 1952 plate on it. Going to a new home. It had roots! Took all day. Amazed the front axle king pins were all free.

Drove from Morgan Colorado to home. It was the last leg of our journey. Other than a little radiator issue my Plymouth ran awesome. I averaged 13.4.

The Plymouth did good, that's a long haul. My Dakota with a 360, never got over 14.1 to 14.8 and I'm sure it wasn't as much fun to drive either!!
