Y'all are gonna have to give up on that whole "grits" thing....
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, that I know around here eats the damn things.
They offer 'em down at the Waffle House beside the interstate, but nobody's chowing down on them
over here in the real world.
I can live with most the rest of your statement, I suppose... and the BBQ is NC style naturally, with half the
guys I know having elaborate equipment for the production of same, some even competing in contests with
theirs.
Oh, and that would be yes MA'AM!
You can also fly the stars and bars, the American flag, whatever flag and people don't get butthurt about it
either way for the most part....can you guess why that is?
This part of TN was surprisingly neutral during "The War of Northern Aggression" - we had both Union and
Confederate HQ located in downtown buildings at one point or the other during the war.
Oddly, the northern HQ faced north, the southern one in a southerly direction - but they both were on the
"wrong" side of Main Street when they were here!
