Just picked up a '97 Civic. Before I get flamed, I talked the guy down to $1500 from $3000. Makes 220 to the wheels, pulls hard for a 1.8 litre haha. I'll get some pics up in a bit. Spins through first second and third on the street with good tires.

They are a cheap reliable daily driver. Nothing wrong with that.

I understand with that kinda price. Me personally, I would never buy one new. But that's just me.

Yeah, I put a hard 400 km on it (spent lots of time in vtec) and it went down 1/3 of a tank.

We have 235k on our crv. It still runs like new and is only second to getting out of deep snow to our 86 Toyota 4x4 pick up!!! Those are a modern day version of flat fender jeeps. Getting to work dependably is a good thing!

I had one for years, dead on reliable, fuel efficient, and served it purpose for my 76 mile round trip to work. I sold it for 2500 and only paid 3000 for it.

Just found a time slip under the seat for 13.4 at 106 and the car is running a little lean. I think I'm going to get it tuned and take it to the track!

Good for you, ok for a cheap commuter car, I guess, but not my cup of tea...LOL... have fun with your new Saki sippen' rice rocket...

If I had to buy gas in Canada I'd probably be driving something smaller too. Around here the Canucks from B.C. come down to gas up and get all their groceries at Costco.
I've driven Hondas and they are ok but I like my wife's Dodge Caliber better. I know that the Calibers have a bad rep but I've never had a spot of trouble with this one.

Nothing wrong with a Ford. I have 235,000 miles on my 2001 Taurus that I bought used in 2004 and the V-6 makes it a pocket rocket for sure. Worn out two sets of tires so far and counting... It's my all weather car when my MoPars are in their snug garages for the winter. :headbang:

I think my sister used to have a Honda. ?:eusa_whistle:

I am a bit embarrassed to admit that i bought a Honda this year....But mine was a LAWNMOWER. That thing kicks *** over any other mower that I have ever owned!

closet Rav4 owner here.

Damn...now deciding between a new Ram 1500 or Tundra. Those Tundras are pretty plush.

If its soul-baring time then I'm all in: a couple of months ago I bought an 89 Mazda B2600 4x4 for 400 bux to relieve my Cordoba of its daily driver duties for the winter. Then, a couple of weeks ago I bought a 73 F250 4x4.

now all my non-Mopar skeletons are outta the closet. Oh, yeah...I have a friend who likes Hondas. There, I feel so much better.

I work for a very small company that le's me shop for my company car provided it's a Honda, Toyota or Nissan... Reason being we have to 2010 Accord's with 320,000 km and 340,000 km, a 2005 Accord with 515,000km and the owner's brother is driving our "retired" Camry with 720,000km

This year I wanted an SUV so to match for the money we decided to see if we could beat the crap out of a KIA.... So right now I have a 2013 Sorrento with 94,000km.... Ya I drive a bit!

all you guy should have your Mopar Man Card revoked...LOL... sorry, I had to do that... what's with all the foreign car talk on here lately... isn't this FBBO ?? I'm Budnicks & I'm a Moparholic, wow there I feel much better now...LOL... I've constantly fixed & spent money on a couple of Honda Civics my ol'lady in college had & my 1st live in girlfriend had, it's made me completely biased... Yeah I know the newer ones are far better, but I will only own/buy the big 3 American Made Brand Cars now... Buy American support America... Unless I can find a good Porsche' 911 for a steal... he he ha ha

When it comes to Old School you're absolutely right but with new cars the Big 3 are doing nothing to excite me... For MOPAR or Ford I'd buy a Pickup no problem or possibly a high optioned Challenger or Mustang.... GM is doing absolutely nothing I like so beyond that I'd spend my money on something I like rather than "buy American".... Do you realize how few of the "American"cars are actually made in America.... Hell as far as Ryguytoodry goes he just bought a Honda and there is a Honda Plant employing local people within an hour and half drive from him

I'm well aware of all those points... :iamwithstupid: I Somewhat agree for the most part too, except for the statement "how few American cars are made in America" {excluding GM which I agree, have little to nothing to offer anymore, that I'm interested in that's new} the car/automotive industry "is a global business today", even with the BIG 3... China & GM {Govt. Motors} affiliates will probably produce more cars/autos than the USA eventually... We Americans still produce the majority of the BIG 3 here, in various different states/plants & allot of the, new foreign owned companies like, Toyota's, Honda's, Nissan's, Lexus's, Infinitie's, Acura's, Mini's/BMW's also, among many other smaller automotive companies here too, but they're not American owned companies, just American Assembly plants, with American employees/workers, building the cars... As a loyal American, I try to buy & support my American workers/American owned Companies & the Made In The USA branded products, when ever possible... I don't expect other people, from other foreign countries, to feel or to act in the same way... my $0.02 cents

Budnicks I completely understand your points/arguments and your patriotism... It's a great quality and I. not trying to knock it or essentially disagree... I guess my POV is just a different take... By marriage I have 3 Uncles in Windsor that all work for Ford and they always liked to point out on me people driving cars with "buy American" stickers where the cars are manufactured overseas... I guess the take here being do you support the "Local Owned" company that ships jobs overseas or the Foreign owned company that employs locals and awards them well paying jobs.

When I purchase a vehicle I honestly don't take into account where it's made as a personal choice.... It is my $$ and for that money I will pick what I feel is the best value for my money... That said though I do respect your point of view and in no way is this an argument with it.

I'm probably gonna stir up a hornets nest with this! With buy outs of GM and Chrysler (owned by fiat now I understand) I simply refuse to own a new one from either company! that leaves you ford as the last one standing, and I do like some ford products, Focus st and stang. Ive had aweful products from them as well (2004 quad cab 6.0 diesel) I wont own another ford pick up due to that venture (no thanks international). What does that leave you with, unfortunately foreign motors. When the big 3 GM ford Chrysler were producing in the 60s-70s cars were cheap and plentiful to get. Just what Honda, Toy and Nissan offer today. Nissan being the only one without union if I remember correctly. Its a shame the big 3 haven't followed suit with unions or finding a better way to do business ( short of outsourcing). It shows today with Detroit's current state. The foreign big 3 listened to the public and built what the people wanted. If the big 3 built a better mouse trap so to speak Ill be looking at it.

I was going to mention the Union thing too but thought I'd stay away from it lol... I know the local Toyota plant here is non union but not sure about the Honda plant. My last truck purchase was driven by resale value... I sat on a Yukon Denali that I couldn't give away when it was time to unload... when I was at a Nissan dealership looking at a used Dodge I witnessed while someone was trading in their used 04 Titan for a new one somebody walked in and bought the 04 before the trade deal ink was dry...
